1971 Alfa Romeo Montreal

Ferrari Los Angeles is pleased to present this stunning 1971 Alfa Romeo Montreal finished in Oro Metalizzato over an Avana Beige interior. Introduced as a concept car in 1967 at Expo 67, held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the concept cars were displayed without any model name, but the public took to calling it The Montreal. The name stuck, despite not meeting emission requirements and therefore not being offered in North America. The Montreal was designed by Bertone while the now infamous Lamborghini Muira was also being developed, and you can clearly see some of the design cues translated into this model. The chassis number, AR 1426501, corresponds to the production date of May 16th, 1972, delivered to the Italian Market at the time. Complete with a copy of the Certificato Di Origine from Alfa Romeo, the current owner spared no expense when it came to the refurbishment of this piece of art. The owner has kept extensive records of the project, some of which are itemized below. In total, from February 2017 to December of 2022, $182,791.38 was invested into bringing this vehicle back to its former glory. In 2017, when the seller acquired the vehicle, Gran Turismo Los Angeles started by overhauling the suspension, alternator, brakes, AC and upholstery. Bushings, the fan motor, and other miscellaneous repairs were conducted shortly thereafter. In 2018, a new clutch, engine seal and mounts were installed. Throughout this time, the seller had also been sourcing various parts, of which invoices for all are recorded. In 2021, it was then transported to Mario and Son Classic Cars, who repainted the car in its original color, Oro Metalizzato. It was then transported back to Gran Turismo Los Angeles for additional engine work, SPICA Rebuild, steering box, water pump, hoses, thermostatic actuator and new tires. This Montreal is therefore show ready, having recently participated in the Petersen Bastille Day Rally to Malibu, shown at the Palos Verdes Concorso in 2017, and the Orange County Car Show in 2019.
