Bait and switch with false internet pricing. After a search on Autotrader and then on Stasek's website to verify the that the prices matched and to read the fine print I inquired about a brand ne After a search on Autotrader and then on Stasek's website to verify the that the prices matched and to read the fine print I inquired about a brand new 2019 Camaro (STOCK #162777, VIN# 1G1FB1RS2K0149892) with an M.S.R.P. of $31,755 and a "Stasek Sales Price" of $23,988, which included a "Stasek Savings: Dealer Discount available to everyone" of -$5,767 and 2 conditional offers of $1,000 each for residency and financing through ALLY bank. Which brings us to the "Stasek Sales Price" of $23,988. When you call Stasek Chevy you do not directly talk to a salesperson, but rather a call center that then passes along your information to a salesperson to call you back. I placed my original call on Thursday October 17th 2019 and was told by the call center a salesperson would get back to me in 10 or 15 minutes. A few hours passed and no one called, so I called back and was told sorry, but sales is really, really busy today. I did not receive a call back until some time on Friday, but I was at work so I called back on Saturday a Steve that left me a voicemail. After establishing the car I was interested in (2019 Camaro, STOCK #162777, VIN# 1G1FB1RS2K0149892) upon asking the question that the $23,988 sale price is for everyone as I qualify for the residency and will finance through ALLY) I was immediately given the standard dealer jargon of oh no that is too good of a price as $3,000 of the discount is if you own a Mustang and another $500 is if you landed on the moon in the last week (or some such unattainable requirement). Now I cut and paste the fine print directly from Stasek Chevrolet's website for everyone reading this and I began reading it to Steven the Salesman: "Take It to Stasek !! *** You MAY Qualify for additional Rebates and Incentives that Make Our Low Price even Lower !! Beware, other dealers' Prices may include offers that not everyone will qualify for. Please contact us for more details *** This online price includes: $1,000 - GM Consumer Cash Program. Exp. 10/31/2019, $1,000 - Chevrolet Select Market Bonus Cash. Exp. 10/31/2019" Before I could finish I was told he knew what it said and that $3,000 of the discount is for Mustang owners only. However the Mustang Conquest Cash is listed as a conditional offer on the website and it is only $2,000 as Stasek's website wasn't updated as Chevrolet has recently upped it to $3,000. So how could a sale price listed on the internet include Conquest rebate that was $1,000 short? I stated to him that Stasek is no different, if not worse then other Chevrolet dealers for the bait and switch pricing and said they were better because he was laying out for me now on the phone instead of in the elevator up to the financing department. I said your worse, because you claim to not do these things and the only reason you told me was because I specifically asked. It is quite a ride for me to get to Stasek Chevy so I wanted clarity on the pricing before I wasted my time. I would advise anyone looking for a new Chevrolet to look elsewhere as the salesman basically admitted that they were just going to tack it on in the financing office and basically hope you didn't ask or wanted the car bad enough to not care. As my review has already appeared on YELP the dealership has now adjusted their pricing online on the Camaro in question, but probably because they were called out on it. As I side note I also received a photo text message from Salesman Steve Nedonovski's cell phone of my Yelp review. Very classy and very professional and probably constitutes harassment by electronic device within the Illinois Compiled Statues. More
