1961 was the last year for the contrasting paint colors in the cove areas and the last two-tone Corvette of any type until 1978. It was also the first year for twin taillights that continues to this day. It would be the final year of the 283 cubic inch V8 before the 327 was introduced in 1962. The C1 Corvette had a pretty long run of ten years considering usually the first generation of any car has a pretty quick run until they tweak some things. This is a wonderful car that features the factory hard top and a newly installed soft-top. This is a factory power windows car, which in these years was a little rare. This is a correct 283/230 HP restoration engine that runs very well, the transmission shifts smoothly, the brakes are nice and everything is in good working order. The car starts right up and idles nicely and goes down the road like it should. The color combo in my opinion is pretty cool, considering you do not see that every day. The underside of the car looks as nice as the top side, the interior is in very good condition as is the chrome and brite work. These cars are still a very good collectable investment if purchased correctly. We would love to hear any questions you might have and as always, inspections are always welcomed and encouraged.
