Following the 1961-63 ''Bullet Bird,'' the fourth-generation 1964-66 Ford Thunderbird lineup was informally known as the ''Flair Bird'' or ''Glamor Bird,'' sporting handsome, all-new styling. Some innovations intended for the new Thunderbird line were delayed for the launch year and only reached production by 1965, including standard front disc brakes and eye-catching sequential rear turn-signal indicators, which finally overcame approval delays in certain states. Thunderbird sales remained strong, despite significant internal competition from the newly introduced Mustang after mid-1964. ''Jet Age'' styling cues, especially inside, set the 1964-66 Thunderbirds apart from the competition and continue to captivate enthusiasts and collectors today. As always, the Thunderbird offered plenty of power and delivered effortless cruising with the standard 4-barrel 390 CI V-8 engine uprated to a robust 315-horsepower factory rating for 1966.
Offered in excellent condition throughout, this 1965 Ford Thunderbird features a Bright Red exterior refinish and upgraded Black leather interior. Of course, power is delivered by a 'Z' Code 390 CI V-8 engine, paired with a Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission. Features and amenities include power brakes and steering, power window lifts, Ford's innovative ''Tilt-Away'' steering column, and a factory radio. A White convertible top, Kelsey-Hayes chrome wire-spoke wheels and White sidewall tires provide ideal finishing touches.
