Seller's Comments
The 914 was initially a joint venture directly with VW and Porsche but underwent a rocky start after designs and tooling were done with the death of VW chairman Nordhoff. with the successor, Lotz not feeling connected to the project was not a fan. The 914/6 initially was a slow seller with pricing only a touch less than the 911 T. The 6 was discontinued in 1972 and it was only after the production switched to just 4-cylinder variants that sales really took off and would become Porsches biggest seller until the discontinuation of the 914 in 1976. This specific little 914 comes to us after a good customer of ours purchased the vehicle from an estate, so unfortunately we do not know a bunch of history. He did take the car and perform routine maintenance and make sure all systems were working before bringing the car to us. This car starts right up and idles as it should. Has a upgraded exhaust. All lights and gauges seem to work and goes down the road nicely. The transmissions in these cars is very VW and can feel weird to get used to but the car shifts through all gears and is fun to drive.
