The SL by Mercedes Benz is a Grand Touring Roadster that has been in production since 1954. There has been six design generations in that time with multiple engine configurations. These different generations of SL's last quite a long time in automotive reality. The R129 was built from 1989 through 2002 and offered a base 228 HP inline 6-cylinder as well as ever-so-sought after, torque monster, 6.0 liter V12. The SL600 offered here is finished in classic Schwarz exterior paint over black leather interior with grey leather seat inserts, contrasting hardtop and black convertible soft top. The V12 has factory ratings of 389 hp and a face ripping 420 ft lbs of torque. Power is transferred to the rear wheels through its 5 speed automatic transmission. Highlights include leather upholstery, power adjustable seats, power convertible soft top, Premier stereo head unit, burl interior accents, chromed aluminum wheels, full size spare, etc. The SL600 has a curb weight of nearly 4500 pounds and were still able to achieve 0-60 times of under 6 seconds with speeds topping out at 155mph. The R129 class of Mercedes Benz are the last of the hand crafted cars that came out of the Mercedes factory and is considered as the pinnacle of Mercedes quality and performance. With an MSRP of exceeding $125,000.00 dollars, it is the epitome of the slogan, The Best or Nothing. The car here has been enjoyed for 118,000 miles and is ready for its next driver.
