In 2010, Ferrari introduced the Ferrari California to the American market. Ferrari revived the name used on the late-1950's Ferrari 250 GT Spider California and the 1960's 365 California. The new California offered several new innovations that Ferrari used for the first time. It was the first Ferrari to feature a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, folding metal roof, multi-link rear suspension, and direct fuel injection. In the American market from 2010 through 2012, the California came standard with a 4.3-liter V8 Engine that produced a very respectable 105.35 HP per liter or 453 HP total. 0-62mph takes less than 4 seconds, and top speed is 193 mph. The California is equipped with an exclusive Ferrari-designed F1-Trac System (Traction Control System). This variable power distribution to the rear wheels allows greater stability while turning, which leads to an average increase of 20% in acceleration when exiting curves when compared to the traditional traction control systems. At the time it was built, the California was the most aerodynamically efficient car Ferrari had ever built. Thanks to its very smooth transmission, retractable hardtop, and high-output V8, the California is a real joy to drive.
