The 911s turbocharged engine is smooth, makes great noises, and is extremely powerful, with plenty of grunt available right off idle. A strong performer and a joy to drive, its worth every last penny. It corners with alacrity, the body stays flat, and the tires deliver gobs of grip. All-wheel-drive models exit corners with particular ferocity, clawing out of bends like a cat being sprayed by a Super Soaker. Few cars match the 911's poise in so many areas. The 911 range is at once fast yet tremendously composed, rewarding and civilized. The competence of the Carrera S spans a vast range.
