2022 Nissan Rogue

Nissan's all-new 1.5-liter VC-Turbo Nissan Motor Company pioneered the variable compression engine with the introduction of the 2.0-liter VC-Turbo 4-cylinder in the 2019 INFINITI QX50the 2019 Nissan Altima. More than 20 years in development, the VC-Turbo system continuously adjusts its compression ratio to optimize power and efficiency through use of a breakthrough advanced multi-link system. The advanced VC-Turbo's high/low compression ratio technology creates two different driving profiles dynamic performance and eco/efficient, each seamlessly available on driver demand. The new powertrain provides strong, confident acceleration from a start, when passing other vehicles or when entering a highway. VC-Turbo technologies have evolved for the 2022 Rogue's 1.5-liter VC-Turbo 3-cylinder, with a focus on improving performance in three areas: acceleration, fuel economy and emissions. A new high-pressure fuel injection system helps enhance acceleration, as does the stainless mirror-bore cylinder-wall coating. New textured valve lifters reduce friction and improve overall engine efficiency while a vacuum low-pressure die-cast cylinder head improves engine cooling. In addition, the 2022 Rogue features a new engine mounting system that uses two lower torque rods to enhance engine vibration isolation with high torque support. Along with the VC-Turbo engine, the 2022 Rogue adds a new generation Xtronic transmission. With a 17 percent wider gear ratio coverage and 32 percent lower friction (than the previous transmission), the new Xtronic transmission also drives better acceleration feel and enhanced fuel economy in the 2022 Rogue. New transmission technologies include a twin oil pump system and newly developed control valve system. The twin oil pump system combines a small mechanical pump (with small oil flow) for slow shifting between low and high ratios, while the second electric oil pump (with larger oil flow) provides quicker shifting for hard driving situations. The Rogue Family Hub The 2022 Rogue's advanced design isn't limited to under the hood. The Rogue interior is a true family hub, designed to provide comfort and utility for everyone in both the front and rear seats. For example, vehicle access with the Nissan Intelligent Key™ operates on the rear doors, as well as the front. A driver or passenger can unlock a rear door with a touch of a button on the rear door handle (or unlock all doors by pressing twice), rather than needing to unlock with buttons on the front door handles. The rear doors are extra-wide and open nearly 90 degrees, making it easier to get a child seat in or out, and also easing ingress and egress. The rear seat offers flexible and convenient child seat installation in all three seating positions so adults or older children can sit on either side of a center-positioned child seat. The Rogue butterfly opening front center console allows for easy pass-back access to the second row. And, with the available Remote Engine Start3 with Intelligent Climate Control, parents can heat or cool the interior before placing a young child in a cold or hot vehicle. Rear seat comfort features include standard reclining NASA-inspired Zero Gravity low-fatigue spinal support seating and available heated seats4. Rogue is also equipped with available Tri-Zone Climate Control meaning rear seat occupants can control their temperature separate from the front driver and passenger control. Both rear doors also feature available pull-up sunshades4 to remove unwanted direct sunlight. The rear cargo area is accessible through the available motion-activated tailgate. Once inside, Rogue's Divide-n-Hide® system can provide hidden and secure storage for essential gear. Also, the inner right side of the cargo area (behind the wheel arch) is intended for securing wider items or groceries like a gallon of milk.
