Finally, VW says it has simplified the charging procedure at Electrify America stations. This is welcome news as many have previously found the process to be oddly cumbersome considering that VW owns Electrify America. How Long Does It Take to Charge the ID.4? Using a 11-kW Level 2 public or home charger, it takes around 7.5 hours to completely charge the ID.4. It takes 11.5 hours with a 7.2-kW Level 2 charger. with a DC Fast Charger, you can take the ID.4 from a 5% charge to an 80% charge in 38 minutes. How Long Will the ID.4 Battery Last? Many conditions affect the battery's life span, so it's hard to verify its longevity. The VW ID.4's battery is covered with an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty. VW states that the battery will retain at least 70% of its original capacity by the end of this warranty period. With its odometer now hovering around 34,138, it is STILL COVERED under the balance of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty until August 2026 or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first)!
