The 2023 Nissan Maxima won the J.D. Power Award for initial quality! This award recognizes the Maxima's quality and convenience, which are a result of its sleek design, standard technology, and safety features. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2023 Maxima an overall safety rating of five out of five stars, with five stars in the frontal crash, side crash and rollover tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not crash tested the 2023 Maxima. However the IIHS gave the similar 2022 Maxima the highest rating of Good in all six crash safety tests and named it a TOP SAFETY PICK+.
