This go-anywhere/do-anything vehicle boasts electric driving for short distances, retention of the wonderful off-roading capability of the standard Grand Cherokee, quick acceleration, AND a quiet cabin for around-town driving! The 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has been recognized with several awards, including the MotorWeek Drivers' Choice Award for Best Midsize Utility Vehicle for the second year in a row. It also received the S&P Global Mobility Automotive Loyalty Award. Additionally, the Grand Cherokee 4xe is a IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award winner and has a perfect 5-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. Each has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, a 17.3-kWh battery pack, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain makes 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque that gets to the ground through a standard four-wheel-drive system. The plug-in-hybrid 2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe gets 23 mpg in combined city/highway driving in Gas/Hybrid mode, and 56 MPG-equivalent in Electric/Hybrid mode. Additionally, the Grand Cherokee 4xe offers up to 26 miles of fully electric range. That's not terrible, and it's equal to the Mazda CX-90 PHEV. The battery takes about 2.5 hours to charge using a 240-volt or Level 2 charger, and it takes around 12 hours using a regular 120-volt household-style power outlet. With its odometer now hovering around 11,611, it is STILL COVERED under the balance of the factory BUMPER-TO-BUMPER warranty until August 2027 or 36,000 miles (whichever occurs first)!
