It also has vast amounts of interior storage. How comfortable is the Ram 1500? Thanks to its rear coil-spring suspension in place of traditional leaf springs, the Ram 1500 rides more comfortably than any of its contemporaries. For those hauling precious human cargo, the cavernous rear seat makes installing car seats a breeze. You'll find tons of room to maneuver. Once a car seat is installed, there's so much space left over you could practically walk around it to get to the other side of the cab. How's storage and cargo? The jumbo-sized cabin is matched by excellent storage capacity. The base versions are acceptably quick. The carried-over 3.6-liter V-6 has a larger battery and a mild-hybrid starter-generator to reduce the electrical needs on the go. With 305 hp, this V-6 has been around for a while, but its ample 271 lb-ft of torque serves fleet duty well, and it only requires regular unleaded. Its standard on Tradesman and Big Horn/Lone Star models. Ram became the first truck maker to fit its full-sizer with rear coil springs versus leaf springs, and it still sets the 1500 apart in its class.
