Brandon, Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. We really appreciate it as we know you are busy with your family. Glad the Sienna is working out well and unfortunate it had that issue, but glad it was also resolved! Part of the reason we offer aftermarket warranties for purchase as a safeguard for the future. This one was inspected by a shop of our choice and by a shop of your choice, neither of them or you or I could have seen that coming! We are glad we were able to point you in a direction that was of help and look forward to seeing you in the future. Thank you for your understanding, time and your business!

Hello Brody, Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we take them very seriously and are sorry to hear you had a bad experience. 411Carline strives for a 5 star review every time. It was unfortunate you threatened, which in this case is extortion to "blast us on social media if we did not pay for repairs," post sale. Let's outline a few things you failed to mention. We corresponded for a week prior to you stopping in to see the car, which gave you plenty of time to make an informed decision. Chris laid out the facts about the car, what was listed on the CarFax ( sent you a copy of this) and stated that an OEM style clutch was put in the car by a third party mechanic shop (not a performance clutch). He even went so far as to send you photos of the paint fading in spots that other people pointed out and that the car had been driven 400-500 miles post clutch job without issue. You then scheduled a pre-purchase inspection at a local mechanic shop of your choice, and scheduled a time to come see the car. You brought your cousin along who supposedly builds cars for a hobby, and you both test drove it, a total of 3 different times, including one time to the bank. You got the car inspected and had ample time to drive and check out the car, even went to lunch while the car was inspected. Did it have any starter issues at this point in time? (neither our prior 2 inspections at third party shops nor your pre-purchase inspection noted starting issues at the time). Chris asked you, "so what do you think? What would you like to do?" (absolutely no pressure to buy the car) You decided you would like to purchase the car, only at a discounted price. The car was listed at $14,900 plus tax title license, which was over $2k below NADA blue book retail value already (bank loan value). You agreed to purchase the car at $13,682.86 plus tax, title, & license fees ($14,750 out the door). This not only saved you $1217.14 on the car but also $79.11 in tax, a total of $1296.75 off of the original total purchase. At the time of purchase you signed THREE AS-IS statements. One on the purchase agreement, one on the Federal Buyers Guide, and one Notice of Vehicle without warranty, you received copies of all of these. You left with a large smile on your face and a happy buyer, in fact, both of you thanked Chris several times and shook hands twice. You purchased the car on 11/29/2017 and called the afternoon of 12/5/2017 already having the car at a shop of your choice with no definite answer on why there was a starting issue, leaving the last comment of your review invalid. Not only did you mention on the phone that it had not been taken apart, but you also sent three photos showing the car was not taken apart after you stated the bolts had not been properly torqued. How would they have checked the bolt torque without taking it apart? All in all, you purchased a performance car and 411CarLine has no way of knowing what happened or how it was driven for those 5 days after purchase and the car was purchased AS-IS No Warranty. You stated several times "I am going to have to get used to driving this clutch, it is far different." At no point were you told "this stuff happens." You were told this is a used car and you purchased it AS-IS at a highly discounted price so unfortunately this does not warrant covering a repair several days post sale. Once again, we apologize that you feel your experience was less than satisfactory and we really do wish you the best, and thank you for your service. We hope to have you give us a chance in the future when you are in the market again.

Hello Annette, We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and kind words. Being a family business this means so much. Also glad to hear you love the Volkswagen, it took some looking to find, but was a really nice find that should treat you very well for years to come. Part of the service we offer is finding those unique vehicles for people in the market. It sounds like it was a job well done, which is what 411Carline strives for in being of service. We look forward to seeing you in the future and hope the best for you. Be well and thanks again from the 411Carline family!

Dear Mr. Burrichter, Thank you for taking the time to write another review. We have provided information for the other facets through which you tried to make a case such as the BBB, the MN Attorney General, and the MN Dealer Unit. All of these entities saw no case for which any action was necessary. You signed 3 As-Is statements, and did test drive the car prior to purchase. You also purchased the car at a discount to account for you putting tires on it in the future and also received the FREE Gold Standard Powertrain and maintenance warranty. You also state you traveled here for the warranty when in fact you and your wife had went to look at a Salvage title vehicle prior to coming to look at ours. The car was not using oil when driven by a member of our business so that is why your claim 12 days after the purchase date, via email mind you, not phone call which is more direct, seems to be skeptical to say the least. If a vehicle has an issue right away, we expect a call immediately rather than nearly 2 weeks later. It then took you an additional 4 days to provide valid proof of your claims about the brake calipers, which seems much less urgent than your reviews suggest. The fact of the matter is, we are not Pontiac, we simply sell used cars. Sometimes they have issues which are outside of our control and typically when someone is respectful and sends a nice note, rather than "what are you going to do about it?" Then swearing in future emails, that is in no way productive or professional, and likely will not gain any help from anyone. Every vehicle now undergoes a safety inspection and oil change to prevent situations like this in the future, so thank you for that. This vehicle unfortunately was not inspected by a local mechanic, it was inspected by another dealer prior to us buying it from that dealer, which is documented on the CarFax when the brakes were replaced and the oil changed just 700 miles before you purchased it. The claim about the car needing a new engine to the tune of $6000 is completely false and unfounded, a replacement engine costs approximately $350-$850 so they are charging you nearly $5000 in labor? That seems a little outrageous considering it is 10.5 hours for engine replacement on a 2006 G6 with a 3.9L. Completely rebuilding the engine is 27 hours labor, which still does not add up to $6000. This claim came after the first claims about the brakes and ball joint, so also seemed skeptical. You did get a Gold Standard Maintenance/Warranty agreement for free with the purchase. You disregarded suggestions to save money on parts for the brakes and failed to use the warranty you battled at time of sale to have. It will not cover parts that are not internally lubricated on the engine, which was explained as well. The mechanic must make a case for the coverage, which again shows the engine replacement claim to be altered or fabricated, with no supporting documents from a professional. A local garage more often than not will not show up on a CarFax and it shows what service is done, not what is wrong with a vehicle. Lastly, you paid retail NADA book value plus tax, title, and license for the vehicle, so again not true. 411Carline has plenty of happy customers, many of them return, and actually encourages people to take vehicles for a pre-purchase inspection which is generally unheard of at dealerships. We also prefer to work things out with people on an individual basis when problems arise right away in any used car. They contact us in a respectful, direct and quick manner such as an immediate phone call. All in all, you have been fighting continuously for months, you signed AS-IS forms, did not contact the seller within a timely fashion, as well used threatening and defamatory language based on false information. The BBB, the MN Attorney General and the MN Dealer Unit saw no fault in the supporting documents which were provided by 411Carline. You can continue to slander our business, family and livelihood, or you could live and let live, letting go of the past. I choose to do the latter with situations like these as it causes less harm, and stress, things happen in life

NEVERAGAIN-411carline responded

Mr. Longtin, CAN YOU BE HONEST JUST ONCE? I assume it would take an intelligent person to be a successful liar, so I’ll point out to our readers how dishonest you really are, in the next few sentences. The BBB, Attorney General, & MN Dealer have NO AUTHORITY to do ANYTHING regarding this matter. They act as a mediator between YOU & I, and you know that, so don’t attempt to be dishonest to the potential consumers who read this post. NO organization has exonerated 411 Carline from wrong doing and couldn’t. Also, the Attorney General instructed me to take you & 411 Carline to Conciliation Court while providing me with a guide for court which I would never need, as I’ve explained to you in emails. As far as “AS-IS” documents, have you STARTED putting BUYER’S GUIDES on your inventory YET as MN State Statute says you MUST? I reported that FACT to the MN Dealer and Attorney General months ago, so I assume they contacted you. Because when we purchased the vehicle from you, there was NO Buyer’s Guide on the vehicle that I bought or any other vehicle within your inventory. That’s a violation of law. So, you advertise that a car has a 1 year warranty online (not really), and then “hide” the Buyer’s Guide underneath all the papers you put in my folder? You are a class act (not). The truth is the AS-IS Buyer’s Guide was NEVER provided to me on the day of sale, nor did I see it AT ALL until AFTER I had major mechanical issues & found it in the folder you provided on the day of sale. You DIDN’T discount the car for tires; tires were NEVER discussed during price negotiations (relevance?). I mentioned the tires were half worn along with the oxidized headlights when I initially looked at the car, & then you wrote on the receipt “tires, budget” for discount reasons? The TRUE story is, during price negotiations, I told you I wouldn’t pay $8600 with tax. You asked if I would pay $8200 with tax. I said, “Yes”. That’s the short, simple, & TRUE story behind the price negotiation that you continue to bring up. TELL THE TRUTH FOR ONCE. Oil ran out on the way home & yes I waited until I noticed it wasn’t an honest mistake on your part & noticed at least 5-8 more major issues wrong with the vehicle before I emailed you. Yes, I emailed you instead of making “a friendly call”. At that point, I noticed your true character by selling me a junk car. As I assumed, your emails indicate several untruths and contradictions while telling me to sell the car to someone else? Really? Disrespectful emails? Swearing? I emailed you to change the oil in your vehicles after you basically told me to pound sand when I complained about several issues with the car & in response to your email that the oil was NOT changed in the car prior; now you say it was changed? Where can you find an engine for $350-850?? This is the year 2017, not 1980. It’s an uncommon engine and a short block could not be found. I believe the long block is $3700 from a major dealership, plus the labor to install; I “DO” have proof from a professional ASE Certified mechanic. The Gold Standard Warranty doesn’t start until 45 days after purchase, so I finally attempted to use it, and the rep told my mechanic that he must tear apart the engine, have their inspector come out & inspect it. If it’s not covered, all of that labor is on me; I know how that will end. The bill should be 411 Carline’s. Show me a professional repair shop that lets you bring in your own parts; it doesn’t exist. Brake calipers were replaced by my mechanic as your mechanic changed pads & didn’t notice the frozen e-brake mechanisms on the calipers, plus a missing bolt on 1 caliper (WOW)? Your advertised price was $900+ over book; you took $400 off final price, so still above book. You encourage people to take vehicles to have them inspected? You must have adopted that action since my purchase; better get those Buyers Guides on the windows too. I was nice until you would NOT help with any of the issues that YOU sold me the car with (per emails). Slander? Again, I have many pics, dates, witnesses, saved empty quarts of oil, receipts, and emails to prove you are nothing short of a BAD NAME FOR A USED CAR SALESMAN. Let it go? I have a few years to NOT let this go unless I get a large portion of money refunded. I’m nowhere near financial hardship, but I wouldn’t involuntarily throw $8200 in the garbage, and “let it go” as you put it. I HAVE NO REASON TO LIE; YOU HAVE 8 THOUSAND 2 HUNDRED REASONS ($8200).

Hello and thank you for taking the time to write a kind review. It means a lot. I am glad we could get things worked out in a timely fashion, used cars sometimes don't always cooperate so we prefer to work it out on a situational basis, and I am happy we could come to an agreement. We also take pride in the hassle free negotiations and the relaxed atmosphere as it makes car buying comfortable and different. We look forward to seeing you and helping you again in the future, wishing you and your family the best in the meantime! Thank you so much.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We just saw this one on Dealer rater as this was not as apparent. In line with the response to your google review, we take reviews very seriously being a small family business. Negative reviews hinder business and the livelihood of our family. We are sorry to hear you had a poor experience. Chris did not convince you it was "good to be upside down in a loan," rather he mentioned it was good to buy a car such as the Lexus you were looking at which was way under book value to help absorb being upside down in a loan. We are in a rather nice business park in Minnetonka, getting many compliments in the good smelling office and cleanliness of our place from many customers. I guess it depends what you might be comparing to, the multi-million dollar franchise dealers? That we are not. We pride ourselves in being honest and having integrity, trying to provide cars at good prices with low overhead costs and operating costs. At the time you stopped we were low on inventory, as our business is growing and we currently have over 40 cars in stock and 35 online. As for your trade in value, the car had every light on the dash on.. Oil leaks and needed wheel bearings. Unfortunately we cannot give full trade in value on something we will have to put parts and labor into to make it right (able to be safely sold) and fitting for our inventory. We always compare the vehicle to the same year and similar miles when we evaluate, never do we go a year older or newer as it goes by VIN. The car being traded also had the wheels plasti-dipped and there was still paint on all the tires, needed a front bumper along with other cosmetic and reconditioning costs. We believe we saw the vehicle, or one like it of the same year and miles at the Adesa auction a few days later that sold for a couple thousand less than our offer to you. We really hope you consider speaking with the business owner or manager before you write scathing reviews in the future. You were told by Chris that he would work on the trade-in value and the price of the Lexus to make it most financially feasible for both parties, but we never heard from you again unfortunately. There was no opportunity to make things right. It is hard to know someone has felt wronged, without being informed. It is our hope that when you become a surgeon in the future you are treated well by patients and employees in regards to criticism, as it is a hindrance to a business in any field. We wish you the best and hope you find/found a good car for yourself. We don't mind if people buy elsewhere, sometimes even encourage it, we just want you to find the car and the deal that is right for you.

Hello Megan and Mike, We appreciate your time in writing this review and it is unfortunate to hear you had a bad experience. At the time of sale it was stated that SOME of our vehicles are inspected; the priority goes to those that have known issues. Then it is decided whether they are fixed and sold, or sent back to the auction or wholesaler. Unfortunately, at time you bought they were not ALL being inspected, as they are NOW, especially due to this claim. About 75% of people take vehicles for a pre-sale inspection, which we actually encourage unlike most businesses of our type. It is and was actually stated "you are welcome to get an inspection by a mechanic of your choice." This particular Cadillac Escalade was delivered to you, free of charge over 4 hours away on a Friday evening after hours by a member of our family. Had any issues been known we would definitely not have sent a family member 4 hours or even sold the car as that would be ridiculous? Especially knowing it was going to a young family with a baby. We were just trying to help out a young family with a busy schedule. This vehicle came with an aftermarket “power train only” warranty, which should have covered a small fraction of the costs, even though it was noted by 2 local mechanics in the Twin Cities, you were significantly overcharged, by a "friend and neighbor of yours." This warranty covers a few maintenance items, which were many of the expenses listed which also are routine maintenance at the discretion of the owner. It was also noted that several of the charges were unnecessary, such as removing the heads to remove a broken head bolt when an extractor could be used. Or there were 3 cooler lines listed when there are only 2 on the vehicle. Unfortunately it was noted that your mechanic called the warranty company after all the work was done (a week or two later) so they (Gold Standard) are not willing to cover it as the agreement states. 2 independent mechanics went through the $3k bill you sent us of "necessary repairs" and stated that it would be approximately half of what you were charged, even at their full labor rates of $100 an hour, IF all those things needed to be done. We see this so often where mechanics shops overcharge, it is good to find one you can trust, or in this case, get a second opinion. 411Carline was notified after the work was done and paid for by the customer, so had no opportunity to recommend a well reviewed shop or work out some means of getting the vehicle to your standards. 411Carline tries to settle things with customers so each side is happy. We believed you were happy when we sent you a check for the brake job, in good will, considering that was a safety issue, even though they needed to be replaced nearly 2 months after purchasing the vehicle. Unfortunately we do not manufacture the vehicles, and they are after all used, so things happen that are out of human control. It is unfortunate that you both felt wronged and that this was not addressed prior. 411Carline wishes you the best with your young child and the best in the future.
