I would strongly advise any potential shoppers to stay far away from ALM Hyundai Lumberton. My experience today was the definition of predatory and dishonest sales tactics. I called ahead this morning far away from ALM Hyundai Lumberton. My experience today was the definition of predatory and dishonest sales tactics. I called ahead this morning regarding a 2025 Hyundai Sonata. I spoke with a representative named Sean five separate times. I asked specifically—three different times—if the vehicle was physically on the lot and available. He assured me it was. Based on our conversations, we were looking at approximately $29,750 out-the-door. I made a 4:30 PM appointment and drove an hour and a half to get there. The "Switch" began the moment I walked in: 1. The Ghost Representative: I was told Sean doesn’t actually work at the dealership; he works for a third party. I had to start the entire process over with a new salesperson. 2. The "Missing" Inventory: After waiting 15 minutes, I was told the car I came for was a "maintenance loaner" and wasn't for sale. Magically, the four other 2025 models they had listed online were also "unavailable." 3. The Upsell: They immediately tried to push me into a 2026 model for over $36,000 OTD—nearly $7,000 more than the deal we discussed on the phone. The Financing Trap: When I held my ground, they eventually "dropped" the price to $31,900. However, I had to specifically ask about the interest rate to catch their next trick. They had swapped the 1.99% APR we discussed for 5.99%, claiming the lower price disqualified me from the promotional rate. Their final "best offer" was a monthly payment that completely ignored the terms we had agreed upon before I made the long drive. It is clear this dealership uses fake or "unavailable" inventory to lure people in, then relies on exhausting you with "talks with the manager" to get you to sign a worse deal. They have zero respect for a customer’s time or word. Save yourself the gas money and the headache—shop somewhere that values integrity. More

Failed to register car in a timely matter. Bought vehicle on March 17. It is now May 6 and still have not received the car registration. Supposedly they have 45 days to complete registration. It would have been nice if they would have provided status. Instead my first status was from DMV stating my license was suspended for not having insurance on the vehicle I traded in. Incompetence at best on behalf of document staff. More
