I have been dealing with Adams for several years now, and I have always tried to see the best in every situation. I purchased my first car from Adams about five years ago — a 2021 Buick Encore GX — and kept it for a while. Unfortunately, during the entire time I owned it, the car never worked as it should. The security system never functioned correctly, and the key fob consistently failed to work properly — even when using the spare. Many nights, I had to pop the cap off the door and use the key inside the fob to unlock the car, or crawl through the trunk because that was the only function the fob would perform. The windows would sometimes refuse to roll back up, and the transmission would occasionally fail to shift correctly. Scheduling service appointments during those times was difficult. I eventually spoke with the general manager, but at that point, they had no loaner cars available. Instead of providing a rental while repairing my vehicle, they convinced me to trade it in for a newer model — a 2022 Buick Encore GX. Reluctantly, I traded in the 2021 and took on additional debt and negative equity. The 2022 model initially seemed better but quickly developed its own problems — steering wheel buttons stopped functioning correctly, the HUD emitted a constant whining noise, and the shifter sometimes wouldn’t come out of park. By July 2024, I was again convinced to trade in my vehicle rather than have it repaired. This time, I purchased a 2024 Buick Encore GX ST. I should have learned my lesson by then, but given my need for a reliable car for work and the amount of negative equity I already had, I felt I had no choice. I was assured that the rebates on the trade-in made it worthwhile. It wasn’t. Within seven days of purchasing the 2024 model, new — and worse — problems began. From the first week, the AC, heat, and defrost systems have never worked properly. I have spent countless hours in loaner cars and repeatedly returned this car for service, but nothing has been resolved. It is now October 2025 — 13 months later — and I still have no heat or AC. I have endured two summers and one winter having to wipe condensation off the inside of my windshield just to see while driving in rain, snow, or humid weather. I have driven through 100-degree summers with no AC and freezing winters bundled in layers, manually scraping frost, snow, and ice off my windows because the defrost does not function. The dealership has attempted to repair the vehicle at least 10 times, with me stopping by on multiple occasions to personally show the technicians the issues. Each time, they are unable to identify the problem — even with input from engineers. The only significant repair attempt was installing a new actuator, which turned out not to be the issue. Since February 2025, I have been waiting for another repair attempt. For eight months, I have been told I am on a waitlist for a loaner car and that there is “a lot of work ahead of me.” It feels like my situation is never actually addressed. I have spoken with many employees at the dealership, but I have never been able to speak directly with Sid Adams, the owner. As we enter another winter season, I still have no functioning heat or defrost. While some issues — such as the chrome grille delaminating and a recall for malfunctioning gauges (which left me driving home several nights with no working dashboard) — have been addressed, more problems continue to appear. At times, the transmission still fails to shift properly, revving to redline before engaging the next gear. In the last few months, I have also noticed water leaking onto my feet while driving. There is more I could add, and I have documentation to support all of these claims. After everything I have been through, I have learned one thing: I will never purchase a new Buick again. In fact, I will not purchase any new car in the future. After spending $36,000 on this vehicle — with a 100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty — 13 months later-- More
