There was a leak in the coolant system. I paid Ford $240 to diagnose the problem which they said was the thermostat leaking. Thermostats don't leak.. the thermostat housing is where most oc I paid Ford $240 to diagnose the problem which they said was the thermostat leaking. Thermostats don't leak.. the thermostat housing is where most occur. After they replaced the thermostat (which doesn't leak) and the $5 gasket they said the housing was leaking, so the whole job would be over $1000. It should have been about 500. They knew they dd the wrong thing because they offered to not charge for the labor, and charge for the parts and the diagnosis. They wouldn't take any responsibility for the misdiagnosis. I didn't want them to refund it, but to make good on something. They wouldn't. Too bad I didn't know that the thermostat housing was where most leaks occur, but then again, I'm not a mechanic. More
