That said, we’d like to clarify a few things that might help provide context: When a customer opts to finance—even for a short term like 3 months—it’s in their best interest for us to shop multiple lenders to secure the most competitive rate. That process can result in a few hard inquiries, but credit scoring models (like FICO and VantageScore) typically treat multiple auto loan inquiries made within a 14–45 day window as a single inquiry. This is known as the “rate shopping window,” and it’s designed to protect consumers while they look for the best deal. Three inquiries during this window generally have minimal impact on your score, especially for someone with strong credit like yourself. And while we respect that you intended to pay it off quickly, we still aim to get the best terms possible in case plans change. We're always open to helping explain the process better.
