I explai After sitting there for an hour, the service rep, Brian, approached me to tell me that my inspection failed due to a chip in the windshield. I explained to Brian that I was aware of the chip, but also added that the inspection shouldn't fail because the chip was previously filled in by Safelite, and the chip itself is not in the driver view. Brian vehemently disagreed and said that the entire windshield would need to be replaced. I went to another place to have them inspect my car. I told them ahead of time that the Subaru dealership had failed my inspection due to the crack. They reviewed it and said that it was ridiculous that it had failed. They passed the inspection. Very aggravating, not for just having to pay an additional inspection fee, but also the amount of extra time I had to expend on getting my car inspected. Update (5.3.23) - tried calling Anchor Subaru, letting them know it passed at another licensed facility. The guy on the phone completely cast doubt on the inspection, defending the decision to fail the inspection. He was very dismissive, stating to file a complaint with the DMV. I'll do just that. More
