I received a call from the dealership about a factory recall that’s as needed for my truck. I advised that my schedule is aggressive and I need to do this on a weekend, and I planned on doing this at a l recall that’s as needed for my truck. I was told I had GM points and therefore was an oil change special for $75, so it would be covered and therefore worth the trip to Aransas Pass. On Saturday 8/30 I drove 40 minutes to the dealership and arrived for my appointment. I was told a tech was not scheduled and therefore could not perform my recall work. I was offered an appointment during the week when the tech would be available. I declined because of my work schedule and asked to continue with the oil change special. I was told a price of over $100 and not offered the special price. I asked for the special to be honored and it eventually was. I told the service advisor I’d like to speak to the service manager about the situation. I called on Tuesday (Monday was Labor Day) and left a voice mail to return my call, as well as texted the service advisor. I was told the manager would return today 9/3. I again texted the service advisor to see if the manager planned on returning my call and he said he should be calling me back today. As of 6pm I have not heard back from anybody and don’t expect to. I went to get an oil change and they were very quick and efficient. I usually go to Refugio at Mike Terry Chevy and they take up to an hour and a half just to change my oil. Service Charge was outrageous and totally out of line with other providers. Had the charge been announced before service, I would have gone to another provider.
