Written $69,500 Certified Offer Issued - Repeated Redemption Attempts Ignored by Dealership, Including General Manager On February 26, 2026, AutoNation Ford Sanford issued a written $69,500 Certif Redemption Attempts Ignored by Dealership, Including General Manager On February 26, 2026, AutoNation Ford Sanford issued a written $69,500 Certified Offer to purchase my 2023 Audi SQ7, valid for 7 days or 500 miles. Despite repeated documented attempts to redeem it, including emails to salesperson David Rodriguez, multiple calls requesting a management callback, a direct email to General Manager Ryan Matthews, and escalations to AutoNation Corporate, the dealership never responded. The offer expired. Because the offer was never rescinded or corrected, I relied on it in good faith when evaluating my options for my vehicle. That reliance was reasonable. Being harmed when the offer expired through no fault of my own while the issuing dealership remained silent is detrimental reliance in practice. AutoNation Corporate later claimed I had been "notified" the offer was invalid before I attempted to redeem it. That is false. No documentation has been produced. Their own conduct contradicts this position. The day before expiration, AutoNation Corporate called me to schedule a redemption appointment here. If the offer was already invalid, that call would not have happened. They proposed a $62,000 goodwill offer conditioned on signing a release of claims. I did not accept it. Issuing a written certified offer, allowing it to remain active, and then claiming after the fact it was never valid while producing no supporting documentation is precisely the conduct Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act is designed to address. This matter is under formal review by the Florida DHSMV dealer licensing division, the Florida AG's Office, and the BBB. As a disabled veteran who acted in good faith throughout, I deserved better than two weeks of silence followed by a response containing an unsubstantiated claim that calls my integrity into question. More
