My Q4 rides better, feels less bulky and is easier to enter and exit but . Unreliable and quirky MMI. Havent driven the X3 much yet, so far so good. Wish we got a manual and a second remote. The key cards or phone still dont work. Hate the car locks and unlocks everytime I get near it. Must have recycled 10 time in my driveway. Havent figured out yet how to stop it. NEED the Genius class for this car. More
I’m honestly so disappointed in the service department. The lack of communication alone was shocking — no updates, no follow-through, and no sense of urgency. But what really pushed this over the edge was their refusal to honor our warranty. We had a brand-new battery installed only four months ago, and when it suddenly failed, they immediately blamed us, claiming we “left the lights on,” yet provided zero proof of this. Even if that were true, a properly installed, healthy new battery should not drop to 30% life from something so simple — and once the vehicle is running, the battery should self-charge, making their explanation even more unreasonable. To make matters worse, we were told that the AutoNation lifetime battery warranty we purchased is “no longer honored.” I’m fairly certain a company can’t just decide to stop honoring a warranty that was sold and paid for, yet that’s exactly what we were told. Instead of standing behind their work and the warranty they originally provided, they dismissed the issue and tried to place the blame on us. It’s incredibly frustrating to spend good money on a dealership service you expect to trust, only to be treated this poorly. Absolutely no accountability, no communication, and no customer care. I would strongly caution others before bringing their vehicle here. More

Initial approach by sales person was a bit to hasty to make deal. Needed more time to understand all available options in a hybrid. When I looked on line it showed it was. Felts very rushed to complete everything that afternoon we were in. Did not share how much time it would complete transaction. We started but we had commitments later that day. Came in the next day and met with finance rep. We got started off on wrong foot with him as he Didn’t explain well what he was initially presenting to us with options for maintenance. We both asked him to slow down and explain what his role was and what we were looking at. This extra cost should have been explained when I asked the sales rep explain all the pros and cons of leasing vs buying. We leased to keep our payments at a level that met our budget. Met with Genius rep who gave us a good beginning instruction. The sales manager did a great job on service recovery. Throwing in the luggage racks and installed them. I am very pleased with the car- I just don’t think I needed the M series at my age. More
For more than 30 years, this dealership has treated me like I was one of the owners. I have bought several new cars here, and had all of my used BMWs serviced here. This dealership was very informative with the services that were performed on my vehicle and also with what repairs are needed including estimates for the work. They also have the best BMW Service Advisor that were performed on my vehicle and also with what repairs are needed including estimates for the work. Truly poor service at BMW Carlsbad. I bought my car there and a warranty from them… they had no idea and no record of it whatsoever. My appointment was at 10 am on a Friday. I had to call multiple times for an update, they said they were “still diagnosing it” and was finally told at 5:30 pm when I called AGAIN that they hadn’t even looked at my car or assigned a technician. I said “I made an appointment for this reason.” And Keith said “that doesn’t mean anything. We won’t look at it until Monday. We don’t look at cars over the weekend.” It was an absolute nightmare to get in touch with service advisor Keith anytime. He refused to communicate with me whatsoever, refused to provide updates and was constantly incredibly rude. For a very small repair that should have taken maybe 1.5 hrs tops, they kept my car for 12 days! Absolutely ridiculous. And I had to fight for an update and to finally get my car released. I also asked for an estimate on an issue and he was supposed to call with the estimate to tell me what it would be before starting, and he just did the work and charged me for it, never getting approval from me for the charges. More
