My Review of Berkeley Motor Works:
Save your time - this place is NOT worth your time or money.

Forget Ken, why don't you just hire a monkey? Seriously, this guy does NOT know what he's doing. After he "carefully inspected" my car, Mike tried telling me I needed to replace my entire suspension when only ONE of my shocks were broken. They tried to charge me $2000 when another place quoted me $300 for parts AND labor. WOW, WHAT A DEAL!! (Actually no- you guys are just rip offs.)

The people who work here need to take lessons in customer service. Step one, SMILE! Step two, be FRIENDLY! Step 3, don't threaten your customers! (Don't worry about paying me for this lesson, it's free.)

The only reason this place would have a good review is if Mike, the owner himself, writes one or makes his wife do it. Instead of wasting your time trying to lie to your customers and tell them about your "honest, hard work," go back to school and try to learn something to HELP them instead."

My Review of Berkeley Motor Works:
I swear on everything i have NEVER encountered such a scam artist team like BMW in albany on San Pablo ave! They first quote you something then say you need this this and this and then return you the car with 3-4 things BROKEN. my car went in needing service but running 100% perfect, nothing wrong, other then a broken oil cooler and doing some preventive maintnance ( timing belt). oil cooler did not effect the performance of the car, but it did mix oil into the coolant so that was sketchy even though it did NOT effect the car! okay so after i take it in, they fix the oil cooler and timing belt but while doing the timing and test driving my car they were test driving the car after workingf on it and they forgot to tighten something and caused engine damage (if the belt loses tension the timing can slip a tooth or two, causing engine damage) so they had to do a HEAD job on my car- they tried to make me pay! WHAT! you broke it you bought it. okay so they did since they bent valves etc messed up the internals of my engine! okay a week goes by that i dont hear from them, finnaly about 3 weeks since i gave them my car to do a oil cooler + timing belt job quoted at 1800 ( costly btw!) went to 3200 when they tried to make me pay for the head job , but i refused and I think they still made me pay for labor because they ended up charging me 2300! I left there with a problem still now my car said that my aux air pump was bad (codes) they told me it would 1500 to replace. and that it was BAD!!! OMG! i was like well before i brought in my car it was working and not BAD...then they said well electrical parts go all the time, you know. okay so then i took my car to another mechanic down the street (who knows Mike and thinks hes a dick and a RIPOFF!) so he wants to prove himself to me and show how much of an ass Mike is, okay he says well if you do need a AUX AIR PUMP, it will be 700! WOW less then HALF what mike wanted at BMW!!! okay I say can we run a test to see if its bad or just not hooked up? okay he says, 200 dollars later worth of a mechanic's labor time, my aux pump is re-attached and WORKING, so I guess BMW unhooked it so it would say it's faulty and they would say i need to replace it and then they could make up for their mistake/broken parts of my car when they HAD to replace alot of my engine internals due to their ignorance/lack of understanding of how engine works. okay if you need a oil change just don't expect them to look under the hood and KNOW whats wrong, they just will say replace this and that and then say ..UHHH *scratch head/balls* " i dunno" says ken...also I was harassed and threatened by their employee who worked on my car after I said " so wtf, you broke my car huh?" he came outside with a wrench in his hand swinging it around- WTF is this, horrible service with a THUG attitude, the owner quickly came outside and took him back in as I was screaming that I was going to call the police. They ended up costing me 2600 for something quoted 1800, plus 3 weeks without my car and I was verbally assaulted by their employee Ken who is a childish young mechanic who thinks he owns the world, maybe after he masters that wrench " I forgot to tighten a nug and it cause the time to slip and your valves got all bent..."uhhh wow okay redneck, stop smoking that reefer madness at work!
