Dishonest "used car" mentality In December of 2015, I purchased a 2015 Dodge Durango. Over the previous two weeks of working with an online salesman, we closed the deal and I flew i In December of 2015, I purchased a 2015 Dodge Durango. Over the previous two weeks of working with an online salesman, we closed the deal and I flew in from NC on a Friday night to sign the papers and take the vehicle home. Everything checked out with the vehicle and the salesman who helped me was courteous and answered my questions. After everything check out with the car, I had to wait almost an hour on Mike in finance to become available. I originally requested a 4 year term but they had paperwork for 6 years. I have an 820 score so and a 40% down payment so this should have been easy. Being that this was Friday night and I took a plane to get there, it was not possible to change it. My original plans were to pay the vehicle off in a couple years but wanted 4 years in case of a job loss or unforeseen expense. I posed a direct question to Mike. "Are there any fees associated with paying the vehicle off early?" That's it, no time frames, or stipulations. He responded "It's a simple interest loan, there are NEVER any fees with paying the loan off early. Now its March, 2016 and I wanted to pay off the load. Bank of America informed me that there is in fact a penalty to pay the loan off early. After calling Mike and seeking a resolution, he told me he would call me back. 6 days later, I call HIM back only to be told its up to the bank if they want to charge you and there is nothing he is willing to do. That is a sorry excuse for customer service and I am very disappointed that Brandon Ford has this type of attitude. Your word should mean something. "I didn't think you would pay it off that early". That's what I got for a response. I would come in with your on financing when dealing with Mike or Brandon Ford in general. More
