My service rep, Jose, was non-responsive and not honest with me. I went in for oil change for my 2013 Chevy Volt. Jose said I needed tires rotated, aligned, balanced, etc. I said OK. I had concerns about m with me. I went in for oil change for my 2013 Chevy Volt. Jose said I needed tires rotated, aligned, balanced, etc. I said OK. I had concerns about my dim headlights. He said they'd do an electrical eval for $325. Days passed and Jose never responded to my calls, email and texts except to say the tech was doing the electrical eval at the moment I called and he'd get back to me. He didn't. Based on past experience with Jose, I learned that his strategy was to tell you the tech was working on whatever you were calling about and he would get back to you. He never did. Days later I came to pick up my car, ready or not, in frustration over no information. I was angry to be told my tires were bald and needed immediate replacement. The ethical thing to have done would to NOT have rotated, aligned, balanced bald tires and charged me for all of that, but to have stopped work, and called me with the new tire recommendation. That "tire" service money I paid was money down the toilet. I bought new tires at Costco the following week. I paid for the whole Cap Chevy bill $1,140+ just to get my car keys and get out of there. It was obvious they did NOTHING to check the headlights except a quick visual. I wrote a big dispute note on my bill about the $325 and got ready to leave. When I got in my car I saw that my tire pressure monitor system which worked for 3 of my tires when I arrived for the service now did not work for any of the 4 tires. I went into the office to complain, and some rando tech said that was somehow normal. I don't know too much about cars, but I have a Juris Doctor in law and in xxxxxxxx. In a few days I got an email from Jose saying they would give me a store credit for $325 OR they would install some new headlight which I would purchase. I had already purchased new headlights and had them installed at another shop for $40 in 15 mins. So I accepted the $325 store credit. Then I insisted they fix my 3 tire sensor monitors at their expense and I decided to use my store credit to fix the fourth tire sensor monitor which was not working before I went in for service. I was pleased that Jose and Jorge both took responsibility for the three tire sensors not working and agreed to fix them at Chevy's expense. By this time I was using my Attorney at Law stationary because it helps in getting sloppy workmen to take their job a bit more seriously when dealing with me. But when I came in for the tire monitor service Jorge was rushing around so fast he didn't have one second to talk to me and said he would get right back. When he did come back in a couple of hours, it turns out he DID charge me for parts on multiple tire sensors that were working perfectly when I originally came in and he had agreed in writing to pay for. I didn't make any issue because I am never going back to Cap Chevy so it matters not if I have a credit of 10 cents or $325 with them. I have spent more time and energy than I ever want to spend dealing with car service. I know all dealerships charge top dollar and I am not looking for the cheapest service. I told Jose, in person and in writing, that I wanted him to respond to my questions, and to tell me the truth. I didn't get either at Cap Chevy. More
