We had a good experience with CarMax. However, this was offset by the extra effort to get everything in place for us to drive the car with everything completed that evening. I had my 82 year old mother, so I did not want to be there all night long and we came from up North. It was interesting that the car was from a smoker and there was no mention of this. But the car had all the bells and whistles that my mother wanted, so we purchased the car. We are suspecting it was probably a bit cheaper because it was a smoker's car? Overall, my mother is thrilled with the car and we've had no problems from the car - it runs great!! Thanks CarMax. More

From the moment I started shopping to the day I picked up the car, the entire experience at CarMax was excellent. That level of organization and efficiency really stood out to me. After the purchase, I had a couple of minor concerns (a tire warning and a headlight bulb). Josh and Ezra from the service department were both very willing to help and made sure the issues were resolved promptly. I truly appreciate their professionalism and responsiveness. Overall, this experience built a great deal of trust for me. I would absolutely consider buying from CarMax again in the future and would highly recommend them to others. More

I have purchased two cars from Carmax and sold one to them. Previous review was five star for first purchase. Second purchase gets a 3.5 because the salesman lied to us attempting to get us to purchase t them. Previous review was five star for first purchase. Second purchase gets a 3.5 because the salesman lied to us attempting to get us to purchase the extended warranty, which we did on first purchase but didn't want to on second purchase. \ We purchased a 2023 Tesla Model Y. Salesman told us the control panel and computer system was only covered for two years instead of the standard 4 year Tesla warranty. While he was away getting car ready for us, I scanned the warranty and found EVERYTHING except disposables were covered by the warranty. If I hadn't really wanted that car, and had it shipped to SLC from CA for $150, I would have. I mistakenly understood Carmax salemen as being salaried, but they are not and like most car salesmen have an incentive to talk you into add-ons. Carmax remains my best choice in places to purchase a car from due to 10 day return policy which is fabulous, no haggle pricing - I hate to haggle, and the 30 day warranty, which is now more common at dealerships. It is also very nice to be able to shop regionally and get car sent. All the cars I have seen have been in very good condition. In case Carmax sees this, Brad at the West Jordan Utah store is the one who lied to us about the Tesla control panel two year warranty. After close research I found that if a control panel has been replaced in the past, it comes with a two year warranty. That was not the case with the car we purchased and would only apply in a few specific cases. I also note that what I heard about quick transfer of Tesla ownership did happen to me, and the car had been transferred within 18 hours and I could then set up my phone for car key, etc. It is also nice to have out the door pricing easy to see and not inflated by various fees. You may pay a little more for car, but get a much better experience, generally, than at regular dealerships or private party. More

I looked on inventory website to find my car and I love how you can search any where in USA for a better selection. I was able to find the car I wanted after looking at many choices and settle for the one how you can search any where in USA for a better selection. I was able to find the car I wanted after looking at many choices and settle for the one l liken and then had it send to Salt Lake City where I lived. The tracking option to see where my car was very helpful. The sales rep who waited on us was very friendly and knowledgeable and she was not afraid to ask for her manager help if needed. My only problem was the computer system who could not track my loan application every time I called even though I had been pre-appproved. More
