If you want a totally transparent, honest no pressure car buying experience, go see Devin at CarMax. I'd already done quite a bit of homework and had bad experiences buying cars before, so my xx radar was on buying experience, go see Devin at CarMax. I'd already done quite a bit of homework and had bad experiences buying cars before, so my xx radar was on high alert when I walked in. Devin was super easy going to deal with, he focused on what I wanted and even helped me compare reviews on different models I was considering. We looked up accident history and maintenance records. He's more of a car guy than a salesperson, which I saw as a huge plus. I would have walked at the slightest hint of pushy salesman... I'd say ask for Devin, he's worth the wait. More
The person I dealt with at this Albuquerque location, was terrible. Blanca Zambrano was the sales agent I dealt with there. I paid for my dodge Durango in full along with the extended warranty. I was was terrible. Blanca Zambrano was the sales agent I dealt with there. I paid for my dodge Durango in full along with the extended warranty. I was expecting a friendly sale, but I was treated with disrespect, an urgency for my money, and total lack of customer care. Ill never do business with them again!! Very disappointed 😞 More
the salesman seemed unaware of an unfixed recall on one car I looked at and was dismissive when I told him about a problem I noticed.. I had the 2025 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid transferred from Denver to Albuquerque, NM which is about a three hour drive from where I live. After arriving it took about a week for it to be ready but it appears Denver to Albuquerque, NM which is about a three hour drive from where I live. After arriving it took about a week for it to be ready but it appears it was well prepared, including many check points and an oil change. It was very nice, clean and I liked the no haggle pricing which made the process less stressful. Tyler was very knowledgeable about the car and many controls, he answered all my questions. He was a bit overloaded since I was handed off to him because Nathan was not in that day. They do take personal checks because a wire transfer can delay the purchase. I transferred money from a savings account to a checking account before going there. There are some negatives like lack of communication before the sale. First there was Monica who got the process started but never replied to my questions after that. Then there were a few automated updates and then Nathan who took over when the car was nearly ready. Finally, when I arrived, I was handed over to Tyler (great guy). I had some wait time of perhaps 2 hours during the process because of this. There are two items I noticed. 1. No owner's manual in the car. Tyler said they would send me one but I have not received it. However, there is a good online manual from Hyundai. 2. There was only one key Fob (remote). This was a nearly new car and should have two. I asked for a second one but nothing has happened and Tyler did not respond to my after-sale email about this. I am now buying one myself and I will have to pay a dealer to program it. Carmax should hold back $300 from a car purchase when the owner supplies only one Fob. This money should be given to the next purchaser so they can buy one. There is no excuse for not having two. If you need to purchase a second Fob/key see mykeysupply.com Overall, the experience was pretty good despite the few negatives, and I would recommend Carmax. Their inventory is large and you can get a car transferred to your nearest dealer for a reasonable price. More
Good service efficiency needs a bit of work There were issues that could have been avoided and when I expressed a replacement of a part before driving off the lot I was told to get it fixed and they would issues that could have been avoided and when I expressed a replacement of a part before driving off the lot I was told to get it fixed and they would reimburse me. The next day i encountered a problem on the roadway with that very same issue and it could have been a costly mistake. More
