I usually take my car here for an oil Change and the service has been good so when my Check engine light came on I took it back. With this service they were very kind and helpful. I had the same issue with my light just a year before and took it to another Hyundai and they did a software update and I ended up paying $1200 so when I explained this to the rep at Terrell she mentioned they probably should’ve changed my engine back then. Long story short, she requested for Hyundai to cover my engine replacement which they approved and I just had to pay $500 for the pipes. We got that done but when I went home I began experiencing issues with my car starting, it would take about 15 minutes to get started. I took it back and they changed the key battery and asked me to try that for a few days. That was not the issue, so I took it back again and they said it COULD be the started event though we had tested the starter 3 times and results were showing it was good. The rep ended up requesting Hyundai to change the starter and they agreed to cover the parts but not labor. The rep had originally told me I would need to pay for another diagnostic test and when i asked why she said “well someone has to pay the technician.” The price she quoted me for the labor was the same cost for the diagnostic which was odd. I felt like I was being dismissed and she had also told me they could provide a loaner but somehow it got to the point where they couldn’t. I ended up raising the issue with Hyundai customer service and after about 2 weeks of back and forth, with Hyundai blaming the decision to not cover labor on the dealership and the dealership saying it’s a Hyundai decision, I got so frustrated and just wanted my car back so I agreed to cover the labor. I asked to speak with the dealership manager and he actually never called after they promised he would, but when I went to pick up my car SOMEHOW the cost was cut in half. Overall, my issue wasn’t having to pay for the labor, it was the fact that they weren’t sure what the issue was, kept playing the blame game, and no one could tell me Next steps if I paid for the starter labor and it ended up not being the issue. My car is working fine now but I won’t be going back to this location. I am glad I advocated for myself and asked questions so I wasn’t taken advantage of. More
