Buyer Beware – Shady Practices at Coconut Creek Mazda I had an extremely disappointing experience at Coconut Creek Mazda, particularly dealing with Mark Korakas and Fabio Gomez. This dealership Mazda I had an extremely disappointing experience at Coconut Creek Mazda, particularly dealing with Mark Korakas and Fabio Gomez. This dealership engages in classic bait-and-switch tactics—advertising one deal and presenting something completely different when it's time to sign. Make absolutely sure you read every piece of paperwork before signing, and demand copies of everything you sign. Do not let your guard down, and don’t assume they’re being upfront with you. The level of deception I encountered here was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced at a car dealership. Bottom line: avoid this dealership. There are far better places to buy a car where honesty and transparency still matter. More

I visited this brand-new Mazda dealership today with genuine interest in buying a 2006 Pontiac Solstice that was advertised online for $9,217. At first glance, it looked like a great deal. However, once genuine interest in buying a 2006 Pontiac Solstice that was advertised online for $9,217. At first glance, it looked like a great deal. However, once we sat down to discuss the numbers, the final out-the-door price came to an astonishing $15,178.55—a difference of nearly $6,000 from the advertised price. Here’s how they got there: • A $2,895 “required” Platinum Package with no clear value or justification • A $1,000 dealer fee • A $1,073.63 charge for a new tag (which is nearly triple what I’ve ever paid elsewhere) • A $400 non-tax fee, with no explanation of what it covers • Plus 7% sales tax, all rolled into the final number After about an hour of negotiating, they came down to $14,500 with tax included, but that’s still around $3,000 more than it should’ve been, even factoring in sales tax and typical fees. This kind of pricing practice—advertising a low number online and then inflating it with mandatory add-ons and unexplained charges—feels deceptive and wastes everyone’s time. It’s especially frustrating considering this is a brand-new dealership just opening its doors. If anything, you’d expect them to be going the extra mile to earn trust and build a strong reputation. Instead, it felt like a bait-and-switch. That said, I want to give credit where it’s due: Jarvyn, the salesperson, was excellent throughout the experience. He was professional, courteous, and genuinely tried to make the process smoother. He brought great energy and handled the situation as best he could within the constraints he was given. I truly wish him success—he’s a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience. To anyone considering shopping here: be cautious. What looks like a good deal online may come with thousands in unexpected fees when you show up. More
