In March 2022, I had my 2022 Sonata Hybrid purchased in October 2020 towed to Colonial ( the original dealer) with major engine failure - overheating - at 21283 miles. Their Service Department insisted that the failure was due to driving through high water and ingesting water through the air intake and would not submit it as a warranty claim until the insurance company engineer documented that there was no indication of water ingestion through the air intake. After 1.5 months I finally insisted that Hyundai Customer Care have the vehicle moved to another dealer. After working with Hyundai USA, the 2nd dealer got authorization for a warranty repair. After 6 months, I finally got my car back on September 24, 2022. Had Colonial not stonewalled me this would probably have happened much sooner. Despite this being my 3rd Hyundai and 2nd Sonata Hybrid purchased from Colonial Hyundai, I will never do business with them again. More

She rudely answered “if you aren’t aware there is a national car shortage, we haven’t had loaner cars in over a year “. I said okay I will be waiting then. Fast forward to today while dropping my car off. I told her I knew what the problem was Michelle replied with an attitude “Are you a mechanic?” Then she said we will call you when it’s done. I stated I will be waiting she said “no I have you down as a dropping off” I told her I said I’ll be waiting. She said “ feel free to sit here all day” I asked for my keys and left. I called service manager Steve to explain my experience. He was also very unprofessional his response “ I heard a different story from my advisors and have never had any problem with them before all I can do is apologize. “. He then hung up on me. Will not be returning after purchasing 3 vehicles from them More

Been back almost every week for issues with the steering and noise was told do to mileage by the manager! then the other time not sure! and the other time you must have good hearing! xxx really they used to and noise was told do to mileage by the manager! then the other time not sure! and the other time you must have good hearing! xxx really they used to take care of their customers even if it was a light bulb they would take 3hrs and make sure the housing and nothing else was wrong and not have to come back from months except reg maintenance now they replaced a rack and pinion not to long ago the same day same noise do to bolts and nuts not being tighten then right tie rod had play in it like why would you let someone leave and come back again etc and not check everything and have a expensive parts installed and order and not check everything else and order it was told this time because the tie rod didn't seem bad again xxx! I had issues with our Sonata not accelerating or braking properly. The car was at the shop for over a week and the issue was eventually covered under warranty thanks to the persistence of Kyle in the servic properly. However... Since then the car had a secondary issue of periodically not starting. We brought it back and after 3 days of trouble shooting, we were told to replace the starter. Now the same issue is back. We paid to replace the starter and that was not the issue. I have now replaced the battery. Same problem still exists. More
