My Review of Commonwealth Honda:
I was looking for a new Honda Civic VP to lease on 1/23/2010. I spoke with Craig a number of times threw email and on the phone. Craig said he could beat any lease price of the other dealers and to come in and test drive one of the VP's.
Well my wife and I get there and they don't have any Honda Civic VP's on the lot. So they try to upsell us to a LX model. Then it takes an hour of going back and forth from the salesman to the sales manager to get the lease terms that we had originally agreed to over the phone and threw email.
We fill out the paperwork and they take my credit card to take the first months payment. Because my credit was not perfect they come back and say that my payments will increase on my lease by $30 a month. I tell them I am going to walk and ask them to return our credit card to us. The salesmen goes back to the sales manager and then comes back to us. All of a sudden they can do the deal at our original lease price and that they will have the car in 1 to 2 days.
5 days go by and they still don't have the car. I called the dealership every day and they always tell me the car will be in today or the next day. Finally I decide to cancel my purchase. I call the dealership and general sales manager refuses to refund my deposit. I ask him where my car is, again I get it will be in today or tomorrow. I tell him I am canceling my purchase. He states I can't cancel my purchase because I signed on the Purchase and sales agreement. He says that the attorney general will disagree with me that I can cancel. I tell him I am canceling and will get my deposit back via my credit card company and hang up.
I then take time to read the purchase and sales agreement and it states that "In the event I fail to take delivery of the vehicle purchased by me withing forty-eight (48) hours after I have been notified by you that it is ready for delivery and pay the total contract price in the manner indecated, my deposit in the amount $$$ may, at your option, be retained by you to compensate"
Since they did not notify me that the car was ready for delivery the general sales manager was clearly lieing to me.
I should have just left when we showed up and they did not have any of the cars I was looking for. The sales department of this dealership is terrible all around and I would severly caution anyone from going in to even look at cars here. They are high preasure, rude and made our car purchase a terrible experience.
