What I thought was routine service at 100k (timing belt replacement and oil change) ended in disaster. I'm told the oil drain plug was cross-threaded by "someone else" and so I needed a replacement oil pan replacement and oil change) ended in disaster. I'm told the oil drain plug was cross-threaded by "someone else" and so I needed a replacement oil pan. They told me it was some quick-lube place's fault from 18 months ago. No idea how I could prove that. Screw me for getting my oil changed without a 90-minute drive to the dealer. So after a thousand dollars for something they broke and I didn't plan for I could no longer afford to get the timing belt done at all. So my car is worse of than before I brought it to the dealer. Which fine I guess, a family recommended shop will do the timing belt for half this dealer's estimate anyway. Just sucks I had to spend a grand I didn't plan on spending. More
