Reason for Visit: Service

My Review of Dalzell:
Dalzell has problems with correcting problems on the first try.
They charged me $1000- to replace a part when a check engine light illuminated, only to have the light turn on again during the ride home. Brought it back and they now claim I need to fix something else for another $1000- in order to shut off the same darn light! They said they aren't even sure this will do it!

Reason for Visit: Sales

I recommend this dealer: No

My Review of Dalzell:
Sales is average at best. The salesman from whom I ordered the car in February (it was delivered in June) left the dealership before the car arrived and I only found out I had a new salesperson when I called seeking information. They did not keep me updated. Upon delivery of my new C70, the salesman spent only about 10 minutes with me, then "had to go" to meet with other potential buyers -- this despite the fact that I'd scheduled the delivery a week in advance. I've had to bring the car in twice to receive items I ordered that didn't arrive with the vehicle, and to have various clips and carpet holders replaced because 6 of them broke within the first 2 weeks. Someone at Dalzell scratched my car while it was there for service, but they deny it and refuse to fix it. Running one's hand down the side of the car where the scratch is reveals an obvious difference in the finish over the scratched paint. It's not glossy & smooth, it's been sanded down - they tried to buff it out. Had someone scratched my car in a parking lot, I don't think they'd have tried to buff out the scratch. I had low expectations of dealing with Volvo (have never heard anyone say a single good thing about service from any Volvo dealership - "We're Volvo, we don't have to care") and I have not been disappointed. Had I not wanted this particular car, a type unavailable from any other manufacturer, I would never have considered Volvo. While I do love my C70's features, the fit & finish of this $50,000 car and the entire sales, delivery and service experience at Dalzell leaves me desperately longing for my days as an Infiniti owner. If Infiniti or any other Japanese manufacturer ever makes a hardtop convertible, I will dump Volvo and Dalzell instantly. Even simple things like scheduling a service appointment or trying to get someone at the dealership to speak to you when you enter it are laborious chores at Dalzell. Their lot is tiny and contributes to their scratching and banging your car around while it's in their "care." I couldn't in good conscience recommend to anyone that they do business here. When parts backordered by them (things that I should have received with the car) arrive, they can't even be bothered to phone me. I get a carbon-copy postcard in the mail, and the onus is put on me to schedule the time to go in and retrieve things I paid for months ago. They don't know the first thing about customer service. If only Volvo weren't so esoteric and some of the quality multiple-dealerships like Clair would sell them I'm sure the experience would vastly improve.
