This was the most horrifying, unprofessional, and purely evil dealership experience I’ve ever had. I drove over 150 miles to Dean McCary Kia for a warranty repair after being told the catalytic converter had been ordered for my vehicle. The first appointment was cancelled without explanation. At the second appointment (August 14, 1:30 pm) they suddenly claimed they had “broken” the warranty part and refused to install it. They also refused to release my vehicle for hours, leaving me and my sister stranded in another state. While we were stuck there, we watched how white customers were treated politely and taken in and out quickly, while we were ignored, spoken to rudely, and clearly treated differently. It felt racist and discriminatory. Once the service department left at 5:00 PM, they kicked both of us (two women) out onto the street, even though the dealership stayed open later. They insisted we get a rental from Enterprise — even though they already knew we did not have a physical credit card and were not expecting a rental. They still dropped us off miles away from the dealership, leaving us abandoned with no transportation and nowhere to go. We had to walk along unfamiliar streets, not knowing if we would be trafficked or seriously harmed. I was scared because my car smelled like it was burning when they gave it back and forced me to sign a paper stating false things about me, yet they still refused to let me call a tow truck. When I tried contacting Kia 24-hour roadside assistance, the dealership told me not to call the tow and even instructed me to hang up on the operator, putting me at serious risk. The managers abused their power by keeping my car in their possession as a tactic to intentionally make me suffer, and when a sheriff showed up, it was clear the sheriff had been called by the dealership and was on their side. We were forced to pay for a hotel, and I had to go to the hospital because I suffer from anxiety and depression and did not have my medication. We were stranded for over 20 hours past our appointment time, and when they finally handed my keys back, my car was still in the exact same unrepaired condition, with the check engine light still on. I was not okay with the car being returned in its original condition, and I had every right to be upset because I went through xxxx and back for nothing, yet they still refuse to fix it. They then told us we were banned from the dealership and threatened to call the police if we ever returned which is a serious threat to my safety! I honestly believe they lied about the part being broken so they could keep the brand-new warranty part and still get paid for it, which is FRAUD they committed. Do NOT trust Dean McCary Kia. They mistreated us, discriminated against us, abused their power, left us stranded miles away, refused proper roadside assistance, failed to repair the car, and showed no concern for our safety or wellbeing. Their behavior was purely evil, and we genuinely feared for our lives.I literally went home at 2:00 pm August 15 the next day. Have no idea who the lady in the blue was telling me to get out like I was a dog and the dealership wasn’t even closed! Being a Baton Rouge, Louisiana native I am never going to NASTY Mississippi again ever in my life my family thought I was missing! I AM NEVER IN MY LIFE GETTING A KIA AGAIN! More
Excellent salesperson (Bigbie) who was patient, knowlegable, and helpful. Interaction with the sales manager and the business manager was pleasant and professional. We just purchased 2 cars from Dean McCrary Kia in Hattiesburg, Salesperson was outstanding. He handled all our concerns about buying, pricing and future servicing the vehicles with professionalism. Set an appointment online twice for an oil change. No one ever calls to confirm. Called the last time to schedule it said first available was Saturday and to schedule it online. I test drove a of couple vehicles with john before making my decision. He was patient and friendly the hold time and listen carefully to all my concerns. Our sales rep, Sheri McLendo We just bought a new Kia Niro from Dean McCrary Kia of Hattiesburg and had a wonderful experience with their sales staff. Our sales rep, Sheri McLendon, was knowledgeable, warm, and friendly. She really made the process a good experience for us. The management team who worked with us (a new general manager in addition to Daryl Badeaux) were friendly and efficient. Overall, our experience was excellent and I recommend working with the dealership if you are interested in a Kia. I look forward to using their service center for my car's routine service in the future. More
