Bought a 2014 BMW i8 – Major Undisclosed Structural Damage, No Response to Demand I purchased a 2014 BMW i8 (VIN ends in X64504) from Direct Auto Sales LLC in Orlando on October 15, 2025, for $48,99 Damage, No Response to Demand I purchased a 2014 BMW i8 (VIN ends in X64504) from Direct Auto Sales LLC in Orlando on October 15, 2025, for $48,998. The sale was marked “AS IS - NO DEALER WARRANTY,” and the Buyers Guide I signed listed “Frame-cracks, corrective welds” as possible major defects. The dealership’s website claims vehicles undergo a “rigorous inspection process” by experienced technicians to ensure “all components are in optimal condition” and that they provide detailed history reports for buyer confidence. (See screenshot) Three months later (January 2026), a BMW-certified inspection revealed significant pre-existing structural damage: • Cracked welds and a crack in the front subframe. • Missing screws on the subframe. • Flattened/damaged AC lines from prior impact. This is a safety-critical issue on the i8’s aluminum chassis—estimated repairs $15,000–$30,000+ (subframe replacement, alignment, AC lines). Carfax/AutoCheck reports showed a minor accident with cosmetic damage. I sent a formal demand letter via certified mail on February 14, 2026, requesting reimbursement for repairs and diminished value. no response whatsoever. This nondisclosure and the misleading representations about inspection/condition may violate Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA, § 501.201 et seq.), including § 501.976 requirements for good-faith disclosure of known/inspectable structural defects by motor vehicle dealers. I relied on the claimed inspection and clean presentation when buying. This experience left me with an unsafe, high-repair-cost vehicle and no resolution from the dealer. This dealership throws customer service out the window. I’ve never bought a car with less than 1/8 tank of gas, a dead battery, a dead key fob, and then been ghosted by the salesman when confronted about these issues. Very untrustworthy business. I have much more photos and documents backing this claim if anyone is interested More
