December 26,2025 (Pending Snow Storm) One of the most overused phrases from a car salesperson is : “Our Service Department is the BEST!”. A pending snowstorm, like everyone else I depend on my car too much! Unfortunately, it’s towards the end of the work day and it’s an issue I can’t avoid. We all have certain family and friends that you have on “speed dial”. This is the sentiment I hold for Jamie Nussbaum and his wonderful staff at East Hill Subaru in Roslyn, New York. I made the call and Lisette answered. She immediately understood my issue and responded, “ You know there is a snow storm coming. You need to bring your car here and we’ll take care of it”. Lisette is another example of a true professional that takes great pride in her position. I arrived and was greeted by Service Advisor Justin Peralta. He did the intake and assured me the car would be thoroughly checked out and I would be updated throughout the process. In a short period of time, Lorrie Santiago came to inform me that my car was ready. Lorrie Santiago is always congenial, professional and laser focused on the task at hand. Lorrie’s area is highly efficient, the paperwork and fob were all ready to go. Lorrie informed me of what was completed, asked if I had any questions and personally thanked me for bringing my car to East Hills Subaru. Lorrie is very proud of this organization and it shows every time! Integrity begins at the top! Jamie Nussbaum is an extremely professional individual. His affect is always pensive yet gregarious in nature. Jamie’s attention to detail is reflected in every aspect of his Service Department. The amount of pressure with work orders, pending projects, emergency customer drop-ins could make this Service Department of “FRENETIC HOT ZONE”. However, to the contrary, Jamie’s strong but calming presence guides his ship through another day of success for his entire team. Philip Saccio and Justin Peralta are top Service Advisors. I’ve been most impressed by both of these professionals. These men take their positions most seriously. The initial intakes are thorough, the process is clearly layed out with potential cost and a clear timeline is presented. Philip Saccio and Justin Peralta assure me they are dedicated to success. The man behind the curtain where all the magic happens is Sandro! I call him the “Economist-Master Technician. Sandro always has a smile along with being extremely gifted. His videos that he takes of the work he performs are extremely informative. Sandro will always give suggestions to keep my vehicle at its peak performance. Sandro’s economic background is always integrated into his technical practice. It appears Sandro’s daily mission is to be the best “Economist-Master Technician” every day. Mission Accomplished Sandro! Finally, I have to acknowledge Jamie Nussbaum. He always takes a compliment and deflects to include his team. His conversations with me always demonstrate a pride he has of everyone on his team. I understand his pride in working with these great professionals. My wife Diane and I are most grateful for all you’ve done for our family. Diane and I wish you all the best NEW YEAR 2026 and may God continue to bless each and every one of you! Thank you! P.S. Your Service Department is one of the BEST! Your sales representatives should bring every potential purchaser to see Jamie and the Team. It’s the ultimate closer! More
Jesse was a real professional who treated me right. Not aggressive but rather courteous and knowledgeable. No pressure to buy and yet had all the information I was looking for. I purchased an Ascent there about 4 and a half years ago. All was awesome at the time. I wanted to trade in that vehicle for a newer model. Was not happy with the deal so I canceled the car. Just posted the following on Google Jamie Nussbaum, the Service Manager at East Hills Subaru is an outstanding professional. I purchased my 2022 Subaru Outback at East Hills Subaru new in ‘22. I’ve been br Service Manager at East Hills Subaru is an outstanding professional. I purchased my 2022 Subaru Outback at East Hills Subaru new in ‘22. I’ve been bringing my Outback to this dealer since it was new. Jamie Nussbaum has gone above and beyond insuring that my appointment is expeditiously processed along with a thorough inspection. His focus and attention to detail gives me the confidence that my vehicle is in its best operation range. I appreciate and I’m most grateful to have Jamie Nussbaum’s full support. I have one suggestion for East Hills Subaru. I would highly recommend a new protocol for all sales. I would have potential customers be introduced to Jamie Nussbaum. Most people do not trust “Car Salespeople “. The lack of trust and ultimately lack of confidence initiates a poor customer/dealer relationship. I believe this new protocol can bring your dealership to another level. Again, thanks Jamie Nussbaum for all you do for my family and all the people you serve. Finally, I must add Lori-Service Advisor (Exceptional Customer Service Experience) and Sandro (Most Outstanding Service Technician)- Lori and Sandro are first-class professionals! More
They advertise 0% financing it’s a scam to get you in the door! When it came time to discuss pricing on a 2025 Outback touring XT I was told there’s no room for negotiating at 0% and why? The salesman told door! When it came time to discuss pricing on a 2025 Outback touring XT I was told there’s no room for negotiating at 0% and why? The salesman told me because the dealer is paying down the loan!! In other words they’re paying the interest on the loan and basically marking up the car! What a dishonest sneaky and undermining thing to do. I went to South Shore Subaru the follow day. They worked with me on the price of a new outback as well as gave me a stellar amount for my trade in! More
Very Frustrating Experience I realize that I'm going against the trend of reviews here, but unfortunately, I have to give a negative review for East Hills Subaru in Roslyn, NY. I've been looking at S against the trend of reviews here, but unfortunately, I have to give a negative review for East Hills Subaru in Roslyn, NY. I've been looking at Subaru Outbacks for a while, and decided to go ahead and get one. Based on my research and our requirements, I know exactly what model and trim line I'm looking for, including exterior and interior colors. I have found that exact vehicle at another dealer, but that dealer is in NYC, which is at least an hour's drive from where I live in Port Washington. I could just go there, but then that's a lot of driving, different sales tax rates, and taking the car for dealer service would be a great burden. In short, I would much rather work with a local dealer, for convenience, to support local business, and because that would allow me to start developing a relationship which, given the complexity of modern cars, will be important. Based on the reviews here, and in particular the way that Phil Wolhar constructively responds to each complaint - he takes complaints seriously, he does his homework, and if it was the fault of the dealership, he takes ownership of the problem and proposes a constructive solution - I wanted to deal with them because of that. Today I went to East Hills. I know that I'm asking for some special treatment, given that the car I want is not in the East Hills inventory, but I did not expect to be given the bum's rush and constantly pushed into the "let's find your monthly payment" game. I'm not going to mention the salesperson I was working with, because maybe he was just having a bad day, but if he was, it certainly rubbed off on me and ruined my day as well. Call me old-fashioned, but I've bought and leased cars before, and to my way of thinking, the process should go something like this: 1. sit down, introduce yourselves, and spend 5 minutes or so with a little small talk to get a sense of each other; in other words, treat each other like a human being; 2. ask me what I'm looking for, and when I tell you, check if it's in inventory, and if not, let me know if you can get it; 3. negotiate the price for the car; come to terms on what I'm going to have to pay - this has to be done whether one is paying cash, financing a purchase, or leasing; 4. discuss how I'm going to pay for it - in this case, since I'm going to lease, let me know what sort of money factor and residual you can offer through your financing sources (if the terms aren't to my liking at that point, I suppose I have to go find financing on my own); 5. have my trade-in looked over by staff, and then negotiate a trade-in value; 6. finally, based on how much cash I want to put down, work out what my monthly payment will be. That, unfortunately, is not how things progressed. First, I was rushed off with one of the sales guys, who seemed put out when I told him that I already knew what car I wanted, that I didn't think it was in their inventory, but that I knew where it was. I tried to explain that I was coming to East Hills instead of going to the dealer that has the car for the reasons stated above. From there, he immediately jumped to "let's figure out what your payment will be" - but he was going to do that without taking my trade-in into account because I hadn't brought the trade-in car with me. When I balked at that, he started getting impatient. I asked about mf and residual, and he explained to me that if I bought something he had in inventory, he could give me a 0% rate on a 48 month loan. For anything else, he explained, the loan would be 2.9% on a 72 month loan. There's more, but I've run out of space. I don't know how things got so off track, but I definitely did not feel like I was being taken seriously as a customer. I will now just take the drive to the dealer that actually has the car and see what I can work out with them. I cannot recommend East Hills for this reason. More
