My Review of Elmhurst Toyota:
Had 2 Very bad Experiences with Elmhurst Toyota.
We bought a new prius in 2005, had taken it for regular service(oil change) in Dec 05, as soon as I drove out of the service lot, noticed a crack in the front wind screen, took it back right away. The service department wouldn't acknowledge that it happened at the dealership( as per them, there was a initial chip from earlier on ). The dealership gave me a quote of around $600 for changing the windscreen(they outsource it). I finally got it done for 350$ from an auto glass store. Ron Blum, Service Manager, dealt with the issue
The 2nd incident happened with my 96 toyota camry, took it for a brake inspection/Job, gave me a quote for around 500$ for changing the front rotor, brake pads( mentioned that calipers were frozen & thats the reason the newer pads/rotors got worn out. midway through the job, they call me in & say the calipers need to be replaced as well, adding on another 250 odd $ to the estimate. I couldn't afford to such a huge amount, asked them to put it back all together, costed me 150$ in labor just for nothing. Lesson well learnt, not to go back to Elmhurst Toyota for any kind of service jobs. & if you do , ask for all contingencies(the best & worst case scenarios). Dan Briggs(The Service Director) would not offer any kind of help (his idea of help, this is what it is, take it or leave it).
