Shopped at Exeter Subaru for a used car for my son.He has always liked Volvo wagons and we found this car listed on Auto Trader. Met Tim Hartford and took a test drive . On the window sticker there was comments on repairs that would be done before delivery. The car was in great shape but needed 2 new tires and front axle . Upon final test drive one more issue was discovered with a noise in the front end and turned out to be a motor mount which their service department replaced. The whole transaction was smooth and the purchase experience was very good, and Tim was very helpful. More

My decision wasn't a difficult one, as I've driven Subarus for years. My lease was coming due, and I knew I wanted to lease a 2013 Impreza sedan. Some features I didn't have before, like heated seats and side windows, were important to me, and John made sure I got them. I live on a fixed income, so an affordable rate was also important to me, and the finance department was able to keep my monthly payment within my budget. Everyone I've dealt with at Exeter Subaru is knowledgeable and friendly. Appointments are kept on time, and service is always done in a timely manner. I recommend this dealership without reservation. I went to this dealer specifically to buy a car from Tim Hartford. He was considerate of my time and my specific needs. Tim is not only very knowledgeable about Subaru products but all makes of cars. We were just on our first day looking for a vehicle, as we have to find one that would act as a vehicle to fit most of our needs...well, we got to the dealership around 3ish in the afternoon. Eric was rig we have to find one that would act as a vehicle to fit most of our needs...well, we got to the dealership around 3ish in the afternoon. Eric was right there as we were looking at the first vehicle...well...we narrowed it down to 2. Took it for a test drive. Came back to the dealership and sat down and proceeded to do some figures and 'talk'. 'Talk' turned into action and we ended up trading right then. Now...this sounds VERY simple, but, you have to figure that it was a late start in the day, the closing hours of the business, the hours that Eric has to stay(or leave for home), looking at the vehicles and Eric asking the right questions and narrowing it down...and then the PAPER WORK...and the time it takes to get all of it through. Not only did we feel guilty about keeping Eric, we were now keeping Greg (finance) past his time and Jimmie (manager) as well, past his time....!!!! We did complete the transaction about 8:30 pm, well beyond the business and human hours. Our way of 'thanking' Eric is to keep in touch and to enjoy the vehicle, keep it on track with the needs of vehicle upkeep and to express the kind of person and sales person he is: Eric is a genuine caring, trusting, pleasing, personable salesperson. He's the first one you meet and that sets the stage the rest of the environment that follows: Jimmie(manager) and Greg(finance), and all are very nice and makes it happen. We had to go in 2 days later with a question and Eric was there to take care of it himself to save us from doing it. I would highly recommend Exeter Subaru...AND ERIC!!!!!! More
We began our "shopping" for a new car expecting to price and discover features and decide to purchase at a later date. We than took the car for a ride with Jane providing detail description of all features. Time out for lunch Jane waited patiently for our return and to answer all questions including trade -in price.Jane found the perfect car with very fair price and effortlessly moved to a completed sale that day. Mike was exceptionally helpful. He was friendly, knew the product line well and spent a lot of time trying to find us a car which met our needs, not an easy task given our particular requirements. My wife & I went to the Subaru dealer in Exeter because we had dealt with them in the past. This was the second time we dealt with John Webster. He was very friendly to deal with. He was courteous and knowledgeable about the vehicle we were interested in. Actually, he recommended the Crosstrex to us. We knew nothing about that model. We really liked everything about it and got exactly the options we wanted and never felt pressured. We have only had the car a couple of days but we thoroughly enjoy driving it. More

The reason I rated the dealership as a 4 on price is because I could not get them to reduce the price more, I thought my trade in was worth more than I was allowed, and the price I finally accepted did not include the documentation fee of $922 on top of the prep fee. I think the documentation fee should definitely be mentioned before coming to a final decision. I will recommend Exeter Subaru to others but will alert them to the extra fee. More
After getting the news that my Outback needed more work than it was worth, I decided it was time to consider replacing it. As he began to show me cars and we talked about my needs, we decided that leasing a 2013 model might be the best fit for me. We took a black Impreza hatchback out for a ride. Upon our return to the dealership, Dan crunched numbers until one was reached that I could fit into my budget. I have had service on my vehicles here in the past but this was my first time on the sales side. Dan was professional, knowledgeable, and very patient. He worked hard to get me into a car that fit my needs, including budgetary. More
