I brought my truck in for an oil change and my tailgate didn’t open till you clicked it 2 or 3 times it’d take to open it. I thought it might be the actuator and I told Brandon that. I said let me know if it’s still u see warranty before you work on it. Brandon called and said my warranty ran out 5k miles ago and said an actuator is 310 for the part. I said don’t do anything. I’ll fix it myself. I picked it up and got my bill for the oil change and $100 for a diagnostic on my actuator. I ordered the part and didn’t look first and took the tailgate cover off and bought the wrong actuator. I tried the actuator since I had the cover off and it worked just fine. I sprayed WD-40 on the hinges and it’s worked first time every time since then. I know WD isn’t a lube. Need something else more lasting. I called Brandon and told him and immediately he said I could have a refund that I asked for. Figuring apparently Brandon knew they didn’t do a diagnostic because if you did do the service why would you immediately refund me. If you did a diagnostic like you said why would you refund me so he knew the game. Typical garage that makes sure they charge for more than an oil cha he every time you go. This isn’t my first instance. I’ve been tired of the last 3 times or so I come there for an oil change and that’s all you do and it’s always 200-300 dollars. Last time Tom helped me and I had a brake sensor light come on my dash when I started the truck so getting my oil changed I asked can you tell me which sensor it is. I also get a tire rotation with my oil change and they charged me over $100 for a diagnostic on that saying the rotor had a scratch In it. So I buy new rotors but thought let me try the cheap fix. This is a newer truck. I shouldn’t need rotors already so I buy a brake sensor off eBay for $12 bucks and switch it. Once I seen the old sensor I could visibly see it was bad. Changed it and the light on my dash went out and I returned the rotors to the part store. Never was refunded or compensated from Garber for that because I didn’t complain about it but here they do it again. I mean it’s like your stealing because your charging for diagnostics you’re not doing. If you don’t want to take the time to really find out what’s wrong don’t bother charging me. I know. It’s my fault for even asking for you to look at something and not expect to get charged. I get that. That’s my fault. But do what your charging me the $100 for or don’t charge me In the first place. I don’t know. How do you fix that?
