KIA will not allow us to pre order or stock the ICCU that failed on your vehicle causing the no start condition. EV vehicle repairs are not easy, but here at Garvey KIA, we will fix any vehicle. Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry your experience did not meet your expectations. Our service team followed Kia’s warranty and service guidelines in addressing the AC system to ensure proper performance and safety. The vehicle was brought into Garvey KIA with a contaminated system using incorrect freon and additives from a quick shot can. In order to ensure proper repair, that contamination required to be completely removed from the system. As you know, the vehicle came into us without a properly operating A/C system, and was returned in working condition, verifying the repair. We appreciate your input, as it helps us maintain high standards for all of our customers.

The refrigerant added was what is called for by the sticker in the engine compartment and owner's manual. A common practice when pressure is low! There was no "contamination" to the vehicles system. The dealer at the time of repair said to drain the refrigerant out with an additive to address leaks required an additional charge of about $260 so it would not "contaminate" their machine. The refrigerant added did not contaminate the vehicles system. Garvey's response to this is misleading. Garvey said a section of pipe was required but then I was told the "wrong part" came in and would delay repair. They had to reorder. When the right part came in the service department not only installed the wrong part with the one they claimed was damaged and leaking, they replaced the distribution box also which wasn't cited as a problem at all. So I ended up paying for a part that may or may not have been needed as there is no visible damage/leak to it AND also had to pay for the "wrong part" and a distribution box that Garvey Service decided to install just "to be sure"..... All these extra parts and labor at my expense which constituted the majority of the repair cost. It also appears quite likely, that none of these parts may not have been needed as the only sign of a leak identified by dye residue was from a joint connecting parts together that may needed to be reseated. The pipe that was said to have "major damage" and a leak has no such evidence and under testing with 50 psi exhibited no fault. To date I still have not received any reply as requested to the "certified" letter I sent to the Garvey Kia's General Manager about the Service Department's work and charges. The vehicle was brought to the Garvey Kia within the warranty period. I only owned it a couple weeks before we noticed the poor AC performance. This issue should have been identified by Garvey Kia during their 165 point "Certified Vehicle" analysis. I am hoping the information recently forwarded to Kia's Corporate Customer Care unit will provide the attention this matter deserves.
