I got charged 477. 00 for a spliced in two wire harness plug the size of a quarter, 20 minute job max! no parts had to be removed to access it. I don't mind paying for quality Workmanship but I refuse to give them anymore of my business. They know how I feel and acted like they could careless. I asked JD if he thought that was a fair price and I also asked for the mechanics documented time for the repair and he would not show me the time and said he thought it was a fair price. When they called me to tell me what they had to do in making the repair they made it sound like the harness needed to be replaced but alI l got was a spliced in plug end that can be purchased for just a few dollars. I now know that I can not afford to pay them for any major work done. I feel like it would most likely be wiser to buy from some other dealer. More

I had trouble when starting my car in the Hospital Parking garage. It started but was running real rough. I had an appointment for an oil change and noticed my car sat in line 30 to 40 minutes before it was sent over to the service area. He said they have to get that straightened out. With an appointment I did not expect an oil change to take 85 minutes. More

It is because of Glen that I will never set foot on a Gates' lot ever again. He told me that I was wasting his time because I wouldn't agree to sell the vehicle to them BEFORE they offered me a price. How can I do that when the terms of the sale haven't been agreed upon? Very hard sell. Very confusingly hostile. I don't understand why anyone would want to treat a customer like this but since that time whenever someone mentions buying a car or asks about car lots I make sure to tell them that they should definitely avoid Gates because they're the worst. Also, it's pretty trivial compared to everything else, but: Glen said if I sold them the vehicle he would have a check for me in 7 to 10 days (and didn't pass up on the opportunity to respond in a dismissive and offensive manner when I expressed my thought that this time frame seemed a bit long). The dealership I did sell the truck to had a check ready for me the very next day. Gates is the worst. More

I spoke with William and he showed me three vehicles that fit my budget. He also took the time to share with me the weather conditions in South Bend and did a comparison between how the car would drive in the winter months. After 30 minutes of viewing my desire versus my needs, William helped me select a brand new Cruze with all the winter safety devices as well as a moon roof and got me a payment well below what I would have paid for the convertible. After our last winter, my new Cruze got me to work, on time every day even through all the snow and slush we had. It turned out to be the best purchase I could have made! Even my dad said the dealership went out of their way to take care of, instead of advantage of, this first time buyer. Mr. Kiel placed my true need above his ability to make more money by selling me the convertible that I thought I wanted. My dad and I want to thank Gates for taking the time necessary to truly understand my overall needs and have earned a family of customers for life. I am a travelling nurse that attends to older shut ins and have not missed an appointment since buying from William. Thank You! More
Please let me just say that this dealership "636 W Mc Kinley Ave, Mishawaka, IN 46545" is the worst experience that i have ever experienced. Every time that i would take my car or cars in for service, Mc Kinley Ave, Mishawaka, IN 46545" is the worst experience that i have ever experienced. Every time that i would take my car or cars in for service, parts were missing, parts were put on the car incorrectly something was wrong every single time where i had to wast my time and fight with the management just to get the service that i paid for. The managers at GATES in Mishawaka have no simpaty for the customers whats so ever. They will blow you off, and not help you resolve the problem even tho they know that it is their mistake. If i had a chose to walk the rest of my life or take my cars in for service at GATE i would honestly walk. That is how bad the service was and is very single time. The only reason that i went back is because they would talk me into it, and promises that everything will be as it should, when it was not. In all honestly if you have any respect for your current asset (your car) please take it somewhere else don't settle for the poor service that they provide. They might have the 9.99 oil changes, but if you only knew there that oil came from you would think twice about getting that oil change. Best of luck to you all. More

After being a customer for many years in the service department, I recently had a great experience purchasing my new Malibu from Gates! As a female it can be difficult taking a vehicle in for service, but I would highly recommend Gates to everyone. Thanks for many years of great service!! More
