LIERS DO NOT BUY HERE! I went up Saturday 4/26/25 to buy a 18 focus st test drove car and car had a drivability issue i talked to sales guy he said I could buy as is for 14 I went up Saturday 4/26/25 to buy a 18 focus st test drove car and car had a drivability issue i talked to sales guy he said I could buy as is for 14750 or they would take to a ford dealer and have it fixed i chose to have them take to ford and have it fixed properly Tues 4/29 comes around and they said the car was being looked at but could not duplicate concern i did some research and found a pretty common problem was worn out spark plugs i asked if they could look at them and replace if they were bad he said sure sales called me back later that day and said car was fixed i said great I'll come up Wed 4/30 and buy the car got up said they drove it around and problem is fixed so I agreed to buy vehicle at 15,500 went to finance and they messed up the paperwork wrong address,city,county and sales tax on the way home car started acting up again Thursday 5/1 i came home and pulled spark plugs and they were TRASHED! (I repaced and problem solved!)And we're never touched so called up Friday 5/2 and spoke with Jamie the gm told her everything that had happened and she looked into it and called me back said vehicle was never taken to ford it went to there hyundai dealer and all they did was just drive it never opened the hood or check plugs she said bring it back if your unhappy so I asked why did the price go up 700$ if no service was performed "we detailed it" I can justify a few hundred for a detail but not 700$ got a call from the sales manager Alejandro on Saturday 5/5 offering to send me a small check for repairs i did which I declined i told them I was bringing car back took car back on Monday 5/7 called Alejandro and spoke with him he said u can't bring it back that loan was already pushed through i said how do u send a loan through with wrong info on it and without my signature consent oh we just changed it so now the forged my info without my consent took car back later that day around 4pm told Alejandro I wanted 100$ back for the work I personally had done to car he refused to give me anything I showed him spark plugs and asked him is this the quality of work you guys do he said it was fixed when it left LIES!! he promised to write me a check "tomorrow " he has to have approval i said your a sales manager u don't have any authority to give money NOPE! I said ok agree to write up a contract saying u will send me a check NOPE!I said u don't have a petty cash drawer,venmo something NOPE! so I called mentor police department and magically 100$ mades it way to my hand DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE THEY ARE LIERS,THIEFS AND SCAMMERS I have worked in the car industry for 15 years i have never seen this level of low !!! We found a car we were very interested in online. Lisa Albanese was the salesperson who contacted us. One of the worst customer experiences we have ever had. We were looking to purchase from out of state and had many questions. Due to a busy work schedule and kids in travel sports, we were going to have the car delivered as we did not have time for the 6+ hour round trip. When I spoke with Lisa about us having the car inspected by another dealership, she questioned why we would need to do that as Genesis had inspected the car. When I asked for a copy of the inspection, we received a blank document. No VIN. No vehicle Make/Model etc... no boxes checked. Nothing other than comments on brakes and tires. Certainly not a full inspection. When we questioned this, after multiple communications, we were told the inspection would need to be redone. Many days later, we finally received a completed copy. We probably should have moved on at this point, but my wife had her heart set on this make, model, color. Since we were purchasing from out of state and having the vehicle delivered, I asked about our 72 hour right of refusal if the vehicle did not meet certain conditions. When I asked Lisa about this, she did not have any knowledge of it and simply told me the vehicle is sold "As IS' which she repeated many times instead of trying to get the information I was looking for. On July 1, I purchased a vehicle for myself from a different dealership and the finance manager clearly explained I had 3 days/100 miles to return the vehicle if I was not satisfied with it. Lisa apparently is not aware of this legal requirement. In trying to talk to Lisa and later the used car Manager Nate (or Nick) they would interrupt us when we were trying to ask questions for clarity and of course, multiple times throughout the process we were told that someone else was coming in the morning to purchase the car... using the oldest sales tactic to pressure us into make a decision. When attempting to negotiate on price, which Genesis would NOT, they denied the car having sat at their dealership for weeks even though CarFax clearly indicated this. I could go on... obviously we walked away from this and would not recommend anyone purchasing from Genesis of Mentor. More
