I bought a 2013 Chevy Silverado for 9,000$ I was told several times that the vehicle was priced low because of it’s exterior rust ( body) damage and every time I asked that the value was there for what t several times that the vehicle was priced low because of it’s exterior rust ( body) damage and every time I asked that the value was there for what they were asking I was reassured it was because of Mn winter. I asked to bring it to my local shop to have him look it over and I was told by Ben Kasten they don’t do that. I had been searching small used car lots for a few months and I had been able to bring a couple in so I was surprised when he said they don’t do that but i thought maybe Big Dealerships didn’t do that. So I was extremely nervous going forward. I asked him and his sales manager All the Correct questions about the value and even if what if I get it home and there’s something major broken in it what can be done I was told by Ben And his Financial Signer to Complete a sale person that within a reasonable amount of time they would bring it in and fix it. I asked what’s a reasonable amount of time to you? They said 7-10 days. But that won’t happen because it’s a solid running truck and repeated to reassure me that their mechanics paperwork was good and i could have the copy. I believed them that the truck was of value for their asking price I even looked it up on Kelly Blue Book with the Vin and it said it was the asking price. So I got it home and two days later the check engine light came on the dash went dim several times i found out 3 of the 4 windows didn’t work properly and the drivers seat belt is broken. Ben had text me and asked how I like my new truck 3 days later and I told him there were these issues. He said they don’t fix something after it’s been purchased and i didn’t buy a warranty. But he could give me a 20% discount on repairs. So I kept driving it because I need a vehicle that’s why I pulled a loan for one. Every day there after I found more major repairs that were needed including a broken tailgate and a broken door hinge. I got a box of cookies in the mail from Ben Kasten and I text him Thank you for the cookies because I am 50 years old and have Manners. I explained the tailgate issues and the Bald tires and how I slid through a intersection in town because the tires were marked ok by the mechanic report. He never apologized he started sending more coupons. I called to talk to a Manager and when I called a young who answered the phone there asked me who my salesman was so I told him and told him I was promised if this happened Gillend would bring my truck in and fix the undisclosed part and that Ben had told me no. This guy laughed and said no we don’t do that. But you need to bring it here to have the coupon valid. I said I wanted my Chevy member number so i could order parts and have it done somewhere else he said I don’t have one for a discount but that i needed to bring it there in a condescending rude tone. I contacted Ben again via text telling him again All the issues I have found and how much it’s gonna cost in addition to my 9,000$ purchase after a Warm day in March almost Two months to the day I bought it at this point and he said I needed to bring it there to use my 20% coupon. I have been misled and straight up lied to. I was promised a vehicle that was worth 8,000 plus tax’s and title and since I tried to trade it in at another Chevrolet Dealership locally and they said they wouldn’t take it because of all the rust and damage. They told me my new truck I owe the bank for was only worth 800.00$. Because of the damage and rust and broken windows and door and tailgating seatbelt. That Mechanic didn’t even check the instrument panel and or know the Air conditioning doesn’t work. Today there is a Heat advisory out and temps are going to be in the 90’s. I have No A/C in my black truck I’m in my 50’s and I have Hot Flashes and I have yet gotten an apology or a refund I have to take them court and I am stuck with a truck that doesn’t work properly. I think of what they have done to me every single day because it’s Now Summertime in Mn! More
I was told I would have a option of vehicles but only got 2 and wish I would of explored out other dealerships not put in a car I didn't really care for. I had Madison and she was very knowledgeable, and it took some time for all my paperwork and made sure I was always comfortable. She really knows her stuff! We choose Gilleland because of their availability/choices of pickups online. We had a 2 1/2 hour drive so I called to verify that they had the pickup still on the lot.
