Dishonest service I took my car to this dealership for an oil change. I gave the service desk guy a The Works coupon for $35. When the service was completed I was giv I took my car to this dealership for an oil change. I gave the service desk guy a The Works coupon for $35. When the service was completed I was given a bill for $48.39 and was told that 8 quarts of oil were used, which I assume was why they charged more. This is in a car that has an oil capacity of 6 quarts. There was no indication of The Works coupon being honored on the invoice. I will not be taking my car to this dealership in the future. More

Called second dealer who walked me through fix over the phone. Car was returned 45 minutes later still covered in bugs ond hood and with streets and bugs on windshield. FYI they were not busy as I was only one in waiting room. More

Even though they were trying to address someone else's work and even though I didn't buy the car there and EVEN THOUGH my first visit was for something petty, Aaron in service made me feel like I was the only person in his world. When I came in, I said that I had an hour, but I was prepared to leave the car if it would take longer and they were able to shuttle me to work in Gurnee. Aaron said that wouldn't be an issue and to let him know if my time was getting close. After about 50 minutes, I figured I had better get moving, so I went back out to the service drive to ask for a shuttle ride. Aaron went in back to get a porter and returned to tell me my car was in the wash and would be up shortly! So, not only did they treat me well, get me in and out quickly, and give my car a wash & vacuum, they also managed to fix the issue (LOL)! I'm grateful to Aaron and the team there - I drive past another Ford dealership on my way to work and have a working relationship with the service department at a third, further south. However, Gillespie Ford has certainly earned my business for any warranty, maintenance, or service needs! More
EXCELLENT SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!! Lost power on toll road!! coasted to stop on Milwaukee Ave. Car towed to Gurnee Ford. What an experience. Service dept. took the time to fit us in (2002 Merc. ) and PETE the service tech. put computer on the engine.Within several minutes, he had determined that problem did not involve fuel pressure. He opened the hood and found the air filter compartment loose. Disassembled part of filter hose and IMMEDIDATELY found an obstruction that was causing the problem. Started the car and then drove car into service bay to check on other possible problems -none existed. They had us on our way in less than one hour! Total fee was for the inspection alone. Had the opportunity to take advantage of situation with stranded owner, but their honesty, integrity and professionalism was very obvious. THANKS GURNEE FORD - THANKS, PETE!! Saved the day! Car actually runs much better since this emergency service!!! More
I've had my F150 there many times and have not been disappointed yet. The truck's ready when they told me it'd be ready. They don't come back with three more things the truck 'needs' right now. Mis-diagnosed service repair resulting in a $500 + expense and the problem not being repaired. Asst. Service Manager never asked how situation could be resolved. I brought my Ford Escape in on 12/13 to fix an idle problem when the engine was cold. 400 dollars later the car ran worse than when it was brought in. The car still has an idle problem when cold, but problem when the engine was cold. 400 dollars later the car ran worse than when it was brought in. The car still has an idle problem when cold, but now it also runs rough when warm. Obviously they did not drive the car after their work. Just to add to the overall dissatisfaction, they say you get a free car wash, this never happened. I will never go to this dealer for service or for a purchase of a car! More
I have taken my car to this dealership for oil changes that typically take 2 hours to complete. Recently I took my car in for an oil change before a road trip and during the trip the plastic cover for the that typically take 2 hours to complete. Recently I took my car in for an oil change before a road trip and during the trip the plastic cover for the oil filter came loose and was dragging below my Fusion. I am currently looking for a new Ford dealership to take my car for service. Very disappointed in this dealership. Also it seems that they always have something extra they want you to do for your car. They have wanted me to change my power steering fluid every 20,000 miles which I know isn't typical. Seems like they try to get as much money out of you as they can. More
