This was the worst car-buying experience I have ever had. My previous Audi Q5 PHEV had this capability, and I specifically asked the salesperson at Gunther Volvo whether the XC60 could do the same. The salesperson assured me that it could, explaining that as long as the hybrid battery had sufficient charge, the vehicle could maintain cabin cooling while parked. He was unable to demonstrate the feature because the battery was not charged, but I relied on his representation and proceeded with the lease. To further support his claim, the salesperson even sent me a Google search result stating that the vehicle could maintain cabin cooling for 1 to 3 hours with the vehicle turned off. Because there was so much conflicting information available online, I relied on what I believed was the expertise of the dealership and its sales staff. The very next day, I discovered that the vehicle only provides stationary climate control for about four minutes. After numerous phone calls and text messages with the salesperson, I eventually learned that the only way to keep the car cool for a longer period is to use the Volvo app to remotely start the vehicle. Even then, the car can only be remotely started for 15 minutes at a time, twice in succession. After that, you must physically return to the vehicle and start it with the key before remote starting is available again. Had I known about these limitations before signing the lease, I would not have leased this vehicle. What concerns me most is that no one at Gunther Volvo seemed to fully understand the capabilities and limitations of the vehicle they were selling. As a customer, I depended on their product knowledge when making a major financial decision. Instead, I was given inaccurate information about a feature that was essential to my purchase decision. I am now stuck with a vehicle costing approximately $75,000 that does not meet my needs. I strongly recommend that prospective buyers at Gunther Volvo independently verify any important features and insist on a live demonstration before relying on a salesperson's assurances. More
I’m updating my experience with Gunther Volvo and Garrett G., and this time it’s negative. Within 100 miles of buying the Chevy Cruze, major transmission issues appeared. Multiple scans showed P0137, P0700, G., and this time it’s negative. Within 100 miles of buying the Chevy Cruze, major transmission issues appeared. Multiple scans showed P0137, P0700, and P0723, and two shops warned the car was unsafe to drive. I notified Garrett immediately with photos of the codes. Despite that, the only suggestion I received was to drive the unsafe vehicle back to Daytona. The car was eventually towed in and serviced, but the transmission issues were never fixed. I was told it was just burnt fluid, even though the diagnostics clearly showed sensor and TCM faults—problems fluid does not resolve. I was also told to drive 250 miles for the transmission to “re‑adapt,” which changed nothing. What makes this worse is that Garrett told me in writing before the sale that the car came with a 90‑day warranty. When the issues surfaced, that assurance suddenly changed. Instead of honoring what was promised, I was left with excuses and no real solution. I meant every word of my first review, but I’m extremely disappointed. The underlying issue was never addressed, my safety concerns were dismissed, and the warranty I was promised was not honored. This situation is unacceptable, and the dealership needs to make it right. More

Skip buying a vehicle from Daytona Beach Gunther dealership as it will become your worst nightmare, once the deal is done, they could care less about you, and they are unprofessional and rude makin dealership as it will become your worst nightmare, once the deal is done, they could care less about you, and they are unprofessional and rude making it the most horrible experience you will ever have buying a vehicle and you will never want to return When purchasing a vehicle from Gunther Volvo, the finance manager sells you all types of Warranty products. One for a fact that I know is worthless is there Appearance Protection as it does not cover dents, dings and scratches, so you are told they will. Then to top it off, When you’re financing your vehicle, they can mess up the paperwork in which you have to go through the finance company to get the finances corrected. The reason is even after advise them directly and they claim they handled it, they don’t follow thru. Then when you call a second time to advise the finance manager who is unavailable and you leave a message they don’t return your call. The end result is you have to go to the finance company and have them correct the problem and they will contact the dealership and get the proper paperwork. Then they call you with a rude and arrogance and claim they can monitor and check all your phone calls to verify you were not there. You didn’t call and you did nothing and you gave them a bad review and they complain. If they would do their job and treat their customer with value and respect they would get a good review. My advice, do not purchase a vehicle from Daytona Beach Gunther Dealerships, you will be much happier person following that advice. More
Poor service department experience. Charged $397.00 for a lousy oil change and fuel and oil additive. Said they washed vehicle prior to handing in back… they didn’t‼️ At under 20,000 Charged $397.00 for a lousy oil change and fuel and oil additive. Said they washed vehicle prior to handing in back… they didn’t‼️ At under 20,000 miles tires were falling apart in chunks, dealership blamed tire company, tire company said deal with dealership… get the picture… If your not appreciated for buying a $60,000 dollar vehicle, then buy a Subaru because they have always given me respect and value for my time and money‼️ More
