My Review Of Hare Chevrolet:
Our buying experience with Hare Chevrolet was, by far, the best experience we have ever had at a dealership. Right away, as soon as we began walking towards the entrance of the building Corbin Richards was greeting us. Typically I would have brushed this off as a shade salesman trying to make a sale, but considering it was 12 degrees outside, I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Corbin took us inside and had us check-in at the receptionist desk. Since we did not have a prior appointment and were merely looking, he was tasked with helping us. Right off the bat I could tell he was young so I was a little apprehensive that we would be treated well, as I am used to the money-chasing salesman that throw a bunch of buzz words and talk a mile-a-minute to confuse you into buying something you either didn't need or can't afford. You can imagine that as soon as he told me he was fresh out of college and only been in the job a month I was ready to get out of there. I was quite biased going in on how things would go and my guard was up the entire time. We honestly weren't looking to purchase a vehicle that day and just wanted an idea of what they had to offer.
Corbin was beyond professional. He listened to what we wanted, didn't interrupt or try to steer the conversation into another direction, and when we told him we were interested in a Dodge Grand Caravan (an entirely different brand that would obviously be used instead of a new Chevrolet), he didn't try to convince of that we'd be happier in something different. The website for Hare has an excellent inventory section that allowed us to see what they had available and we already knew of 2 Grand Caravans on the site that we wanted to look at. Without missing a beat he pulled them both up and said he would take us on test drives to see what we thought. While we waited for him to bring around the van we both commented how pleasant the experience had been this far and how we felt no pressure. He tagged along with us on the test drive of the first van and we had a very nice conversation about ourselves. He seemed interested in our particular situation and need for a newer vehicle and definitely didn't become overbearing or insistent that we keep searching when my wife spoke that she wanted this van. We hadn't even seen the other van at this point, she just knew this was the one she wanted. Corbin went with it and when we got back inside he quickly began the approval process.
I have to state here that the "For the People" approval process is no joke. So many lenders to match with any particular situation to get a person into a new vehicle, be it brand new or newer than what the currently had. Corbin walked us through the process, explaining each step and what was going to happen. I have seen this song-and-dance before many times and was not looking forward to it. I was expecting him to come back, state they needed more money for a down payment, and perhaps jump through more hoops to get approved. But within 10 minutes he was back with high fives and congratulatory praises as we had been approved. We both felt pretty bad that we came so late in the afternoon because by the time we left with our new van, it was almost 10pm and they officially closed at 8. But we never heard a disparaging word or an exasperated sigh as the minutes ticked away and always felt like we were top priority.
I couldn't be more pleased with how the entire process transpired and everything was top-notch, including our salesman. You'd never know we were only his 20th sale ever. And Hare really rolls out the red carpet for you. They truly are a dealer "For the People".
