I was contacted by the business, and we had a very nice conversation about my buying experience. In a world were it seems so few businesses take time to follow-up with unsatisfied customers, I was pleasantly surprised that the folks at this business were willing to go the extra mile and ask how things could have gone better. I realize that it is not easy or fun to talk to complaining customers, so this reach-out meant a lot to me. In the end, I believe that we had a simple miscommunication, and we came to what I believe was a fair resolution. I am more than happy with the end result. So, I just wanted to thank the folks at Hastings Chrysler Center again for reaching out to work with me on a resolution. Original Review: I was underwhelmed with my buying experience here. I had been in touch with the dealer days before I was able to come in to inquire about a specific vehicle and a date to come take a look at it. When I did arrive, the vehicle's battery was dead, and it took a significant amount of time to get the vehicle running for a test drive (I also couldn't look at the vehicle much when I arrived since having the doors open just drained what little charge was in the battery). I was able to test drive another vehicle of the same make while I was waiting, but you really want to test drive the vehicle that you are interested in. Overall, this just made the process longer than it needed to be if the battery had just been charged the prior day (since they knew I was coming in). I am also upset by the negotiation process that occurred for the vehicle. At worst, this process was completely unethical; at best, there was poor dealer communication and poor transparency through the process. I went through the typical back and forth of negotiations over the vehicle I was interested in and my trade-in. I eventually signed off on a deal that I was comfortable with. At some point, the sales staff informed me that my trade-in had some hail damage, but it sounded like they would still be able to give me the price for my trade-in that was documented on our "deal sheet" that I had signed and that the deal would be honored. Apparently, the dealer believes that the conversation went differently and that they had stated that they wouldn't be able to honor the proposed deal that I had previously signed. I was never asked to sign anything documenting that they couldn't honor our original deal (which they had asked me to sign), nor was a new "deal sheet" presented for my review and approval. In effect, our written understanding never changed, so I was under the understanding that the previously discussed deal (which, again, I signed) was still good. I actually felt good at this point, as I thought the dealer was going out of its way to honor the previous understanding, even if some additional issues were discovered with my trade-in. I unfortunately didn't realize that the sales paperwork I signed contained different pricing than than the price I had originally signed off on until I went home and reviewed my paperwork (since the numbers used on the sales paperwork contained a significant amount of "noise" due to various incentives, discounts, etc. that were not itemized on the previous "deal sheet" that I had previously signed). When I went back to the dealership, I was pretty much told that our deal was as agreed and that I must have misunderstood the deal presented to me (even though the written "deal sheet" in their folder still contained the deal that I had originally signed-off on). By that time the deal was done, I had signed off on the purchase officially, I had handed over my title to the trade-in, I had to get to another function, and the dealer didn't seem willing to work on a solution that we may have been agreeable to, even if different than what was clearly written on the proposed deal that I had signed. At this point, I seriously wish I had chosen a different dealer. My advice at this dealership would be to ensure that you are actually getting the deal that you think you are agreeing to; based upon my experience, it seems to be all too easy to walk out of here with emptier pockets than you think you are. Sold me junk, I had to pay to have fixed I bought a used car for $19000 I immediately figured out that the all wheel drive system was not working. I brought it in and their service departmen I bought a used car for $19000 I immediately figured out that the all wheel drive system was not working. I brought it in and their service department said that it was how it is supposed to be! Frustratedo I took the car home knowing that it had problems. I took a video of it spinning the front wheels only. Then they admitted that yes it was not working. I said that they should fix it, they said that I should have bought an extended warranty! I said they should not have sold a car with drive train issues. After arguing about it with the general manager (who magically knew what the problem was with no new information) said that I need to make an appointment with his 100% trusted service department to determine what actually was the problem. I brought it in at the scheduled time. At this point I have had a car that I have not been able to drive in 2 weeks. The next thing I hear from them is that it is fixed and come pick it up. And that I have to pay for it! Yes they gave me a "deal" on the overall cost but I didn't authorize you to do the work or agree to pay for anything! They sold me a broken car, treated me like I was stupid, inconvenienced me for weeks, and then charged me for it. Worst experience I have ever had. Tho Wes the salesman was decent through the whole thing. Nothing bad to say about him. More

Don't stand by Their warranty I bought a 2010 sierra from hastings. 22 days into owning it, I noticed there was oil on the ground. I brought it to my local chevy dealer. Said i I bought a 2010 sierra from hastings. 22 days into owning it, I noticed there was oil on the ground. I brought it to my local chevy dealer. Said it was a oil cooler line leak. I called hastings to see if we can work out a deal seeing that I'm 3 hours from them. They said that their 30 day 1kmile warranty doesn't cover cooler lines. That the bill was on me. Personally for myself owning it 22 days they should offer to pay atleast half to fix it. More

The deal was talked about in front of my fiancé and Chris specifically about the GPS. I purchased the additional undercoating, top coat, and fabric protection. So obviously I have no problem paying for additional items to be done to the truck. It is true that I didn't look at all the items to be done to the truck before I signed the paperwork and that is where they got me. It was obvious that Chris did either a bait and switch or just flat out lied to us. When it came time to do all the additional items to the truck. It magically became an additional purchase when my fiancé went to drop off the truck for 600.00. I filed a complaint with the BBB and Bart the GM finally responded with a "courtesy off the GPS price." He pretty much called my fiancé and I liars after such a large purchase obviously this dealership is more concerned about their money and not the consumer! More
Typical Morally Bankrupt Used Car Dealer My son purchased a used car “as-is” from this dealership on 1/19/2015. Spent every penny he had saved, plus had to borrow and extra $400.00 to cover My son purchased a used car “as-is” from this dealership on 1/19/2015. Spent every penny he had saved, plus had to borrow and extra $400.00 to cover the purchase. He didn’t even get an hour down the road with this car when white smoke began to bellow out from underneath the hood. He took it to an automotive shop right away. After diagnostics uncovered that the Timing Cover Gasket was TOAST, the serpentine belt needed to be replaced, the alternator needed to be replaced and the water pump needed to be replaced which roughly came to over $2000 in parts and labor--- I called to speak to someone at the dealership to see if they would be willing to help my son out. I didn’t yell…I didn’t curse…and didn’t place blame. I told all three of the guys who talked to me that I KNOW the dealership has NO legal obligation to do ANYTHING for my son. I told them that I don’t feel they intentionally sold my son a “disposable” car. I simply asked them if they would be willing to do a good deed and help this young man out. This dealership’s philosophy regarding “as-is” cars is that if you drive it off their lot and it brakes into two pieces, YOU OWN BOTH PIECES OF THAT BROKEN CAR. The salesman that was the most willing to talk to me patronized me with hollow apologies, suggestions of absolutely NO value (sell the car on Craigs list….keep filling it with coolant until Summer time comes…..) and empty promises to bring my request for “any kind of remedy at all” to the owner of the dealership. I don’t plan on hearing back from anyone at this dealership with any kind of gesture to renew my faith in the generosity of humankind. My wish for the entire team at Hastings Chrysler Center is that someday when one of YOUR sons or daughters needs assistance….. a helping hand up out of a rut….. a ride home in 30 below weather…. CPR from a stranger…. I pray to God that they don’t have to ask for that help from people like YOU. More

Not only did they find a great lender to get me into the van today, but they went the extra mile and picked me up at my home, drove me to the dealership to finish the deal so I could drive home in my new van. The price was awesome and the service was over the top. I would recommend anyone to buy a vehicle from this dealership in Hastings. Not one car dealership was able to get me approved for the loan, but they did! 5 STAR service! They even detailed the van before I left. More
