Let me be clear: the sales manager Armon is running shady, deceptive sales tactics at Honda of Woodland Hills, and I want to make sure other buyers don’t get played the way I did. I came in for a used 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE that was traded in at this dealership and it was clearly advertised for $30,888. Instead of being straightforward, Armon showed me a number around $37,500 on his screen and said I needed to in his words “meet him halfway” from my initial offer of $33k. That felt like a negotiation, so I offered $34,500 which they had to go check to see if it was acceptable. And led me to believe I was getting a decent deal off that inflated number. Turns out the joke was on me. $34,500 was just the real out-the-door price with a hidden add-on, not a discount at all. I later realized they anchored me to a fake higher price just to manipulate the conversation and make it seem like I was saving money. Classic bait-and-switch. This is why people don’t trust car dealerships!!! To make matters worse, they snuck in a $399 charge for “Theft Code Recovery” — something I NEVER asked for, never agreed to, and wasn’t even told about. I only discovered it afterward while reviewing the situation with the GM Kam who offered to refund it. That says to me that they knew they did something wrong! They offered to refund it but I still have not received it after weeks! And here’s the kicker: without that charge, the price wouldn’t have hit $34,500. They added it just to justify the number I verbally offered, which was based on a lie in the first place only because I was told the total was $37,500. So they made me believe I was getting a $3k discount. Please be very wary at this dealership because I know if they did it to me they are doing it to others also and I don’t want this to happen to you too. Of course no one took responsibility. Kam, the GM, says he refunded the money but didn’t admit to any wrongdoing. But the refund alone says it all they are being sneaky here. I got no apology, and further more no explanation at all. Just a bunch of avoidance about the situation and corporate speak. But they know exactly what they are doing! This entire experience was dishonest, stressful, and insulting. The tactics used here reflect everything people hate about car dealerships — misleading prices, high-pressure manipulation, and zero transparency. Because at no point was I given a full breakdown of the tax, title, and listening without the extras. If you walk into this place, do NOT trust the numbers they throw at you, especially if Armon is involved. Demand everything in writing. Slow the process down. Triple-check for hidden fees. Or better yet, go to a dealership that actually respects its customers because clearly this one does not! I regret doing business here — and I’m filing complaints with Honda Corporate and the Better Business Bureau and posting this to all social media and review forums. Let my mistake be your warning. Watch out for their lease deals. They get you agree with a downpayment and a monthly payment. In other words, they make it like they have given you a discount when they in fact sell you a service that they should disclose to you and you should have the choice to buy it or not. This they did to a customer who has leased more than ten cars from them. So much for loyalty appreciation. Misrepresentation and untruthful sales practices I call this. More
