I had a very bad experience with Patrick at Lee Summit Subaru. The dealership itself was clean and well stocked. Patrick and I discussed a price preliminarily over the phone on Friday (6/21) but didn’t Subaru. The dealership itself was clean and well stocked. Patrick and I discussed a price preliminarily over the phone on Friday (6/21) but didn’t finalize anything, and I really wasn’t interested at the price he was offering. I told him I was going out of town on Monday morning and wouldn’t be able to take any calls until the following Thursday or Friday (6/27-28) Monday (6/24) morning Patrick calls me, leaves a voicemail, as I was unable to answer, and asks if I can come by and pick up the car. I did not get a chance to call him back, and he proceeds to call me again the following morning and ask the same questions over voicemail. Later Tuesday evening, my wife informs me that someone from a car dealer called her place of work, asking the receptionist for my wife, and telling the receptionist it is an urgent personal financial issue with my wife and I, and our failure to pick up the car we purchased. My wife is a public CPA, and her cases, and professional work is confidential, so someone calling her office asking for her, and saying she is in financial trouble is a serious issue for her. When my wife informs me of this, she is upset that I gave the car dealer her offices main phone number. Thinking on this, I didn’t give Patrick her offices number, infact the only number I gave him was my cellphone. However our credit application contained the name of both my Wife’s and My employer, and my wife’s business’ office number is listed on their websites for clients to call. So with this, Patrick must have used our credit application to research my wife’s place of work and call her to harass her about the car. I find this to be very unprofessional, and against our privacy when filling out a credit application. My wife is still under pressure from her supervisor for a personal phone call on their main client number. I refused to purchase this vehicle strictly because of Patrick behavior. I would not recommend this dealer. More
We've been snubbed three times now (even though we're fully financed) at this dealership. Originally we went in to get our current Subaru serviced, and they were completely inept as to what we were we're fully financed) at this dealership. Originally we went in to get our current Subaru serviced, and they were completely inept as to what we were looking for and whether they had it in stock (despite us BRINGING IN the part number!). Later, now that I'm looking to buy my Subaru, we walked in and told the receptionist that we wanted to look at the specific vehicle. 15 minutes later, and the sales rep in the building is still standing around looking at the ceiling. Very poor customer service. Before having a Subaru (when we were looking for my husband's car), we went there looking for the model we wanted, never got any attention. I'm never going back to Lee's Summit Subaru. Van Subaru and Olathe Subaru may be quite a drive from Lee's Summit, but at least they aren't jerks! More
The sales manager was extremely rude. Rather than counter our initial offer, he just started yelling at us, saying all we cared about was money. We were looking at a 2011 Outback which was a dealer counter our initial offer, he just started yelling at us, saying all we cared about was money. We were looking at a 2011 Outback which was a dealer demo and had 4,000 miles on it, and he was still trying to sell it to us over invoice. We bought our new Outback from a different dealer later the same day and love it. More
Would have been our fifth Subaru so we had done our homework, knew what we wanted and were ready to buy. I called before we went there---and used USAA pricing (Identical to Consumer Reports)which their homework, knew what we wanted and were ready to buy. I called before we went there---and used USAA pricing (Identical to Consumer Reports)which their CFO Johnny, said "we'll match." At the "close" when we were ready to do business the very pleasant Sales manager said, "NO, we cannot go that low- regardless of what you were told." This harks back to the old days when you heard, "Well I have to check with my Sales Manager to see if we can do this deal." Nice people but frankly there was is integrity issue that caused us to lose 2 1/2 hrs of our time. Oh, and yes, we then purchased a new Subaru, slightly out of town (Check the Inventories on line)--and yes at the guaranteed USAA price- with NO hastle. More
