Go somewhere else. Never again, especially for used vehicles. Bought a CPO '21 CX-5 in August 2023 with 25k miles. Immediately noticed the steering wheel was 15° off Never again, especially for used vehicles. Bought a CPO '21 CX-5 in August 2023 with 25k miles. Immediately noticed the steering wheel was 15° off-center and the car pulled right. Dealer couldn't do an alignment on the day it was sold. Scheduled an appointment and drove it for 10 days until it could be serviced. Later found rear bumper damage within 2 weeks of ownership — rear reflector dangling off the bumper, glued in place, broken screw mounts. The car then was in service for two weeks with no updates. When I called, the manager informed me tree berries had destroyed the paint while on the service lot. They offered $1k off and a respray. I declined and instead paid the difference for another ‘21 CX-5 with 11k miles. The second CX-5 had problems from the start. Wheel locks on the car but with no wheel lock key and no owner’s manual. Interior rattling was unbearable, but repeated service visits failed to fix it. At one appointment, the advisor turned me away due to no loaner vehicles—while I saw loaners on the lot and made the reservation for one three weeks prior—drove home with nothing but wasted time. Another visit, a service advisor failed to submit my paperwork, and my car sat at the dealership for six weeks, completely forgotten. Turns out this service advisor was let go no one picked up on their documents, leaving the paperwork and keys on their desk and car on the lot. When I called, the service department had no idea they even had the car. No one questioned why a blue plated CX-5 sat there on the service lot for a month and a half. The rattling continued. The service manager asked to drive the car on his daily commute to diagnose it. They found the headliner’s wiring harness epoxy had failed. Their fix? Electrical tape. Why not use factory epoxy? Windshield and faulty rear differential replaced at 15k miles. Last time it was in their possession and given back, I found the interior assembly missing clips, screws, scratched up interior panels, and a dirty, creased up headliner. No fix, same rattle as before, car now in worse condition. Over 13 months, I made 10+ trips, documented everything, and spent hours on calls with Mazda USA. In total, my two CPO vehicles spent over 20 weeks in service. Liberty Mazda eventually offered a buyback at a $4k loss, and Mazda USA offered corporate pricing on a new ‘25 CX-5 to soften the blow. Trading elsewhere would’ve cost me more, so I took the deal. This new CX-5 was finally problem-free. Sales was fine—Malik was great—but Liberty Mazda's service was sub-par. Mazda USA provided little help beyond corporate pricing and a gift card. If not for that, I would’ve dumped the car and gone to another brand entirely. Bottom line: I lost time, money, and patience with this dealership. I got my two free oil changes and I’m done. I’ll drive further to another dealer for warranty service. I refuse to have Liberty Mazda touch this vehicle after my experience. Hard pressed on ever being an Executive Auto Group or a direct Mazda customer again. Grew up loving the brand and was excited to be an owner, not so much enthusiasm with it now. Buyer beware— go spend your money elsewhere. More
